do you like your curly hair?

I love my curls. I may be an oddball here, but I've never straightened it (well, not intentionally - a stylist did for an updo). I never wanted to - I can't imagine spending so much of my time trying to get my hair to look like everyone else's when I was blessed with these curls. So many women pay so much money on perms, and curlers, and a gazillion products to make their hair do what mine does NATURALLY - that's a huge deal to me! That tells me to love what I have and make the most of it. Even if it's trickier to do than most people - that's ok.

CG since 2/07 and loving it!
I looove my curly/wavy hair! I love that it is wild, crazy, and unpredictable but don't like the bad hair days. Lol oh well everyone has them every once in a while! My hair has gotten a lot curlier than it was a year ago because I have really made it healthy and sometimes it is unmanageable...but I love my hair no matter what! I also really love that it is unique and sexy. Everyone I know straightens their hair 24/7 and I love rocking my natural texture!

Finer, mixed with coarser strands, low-porosity, wavy curly whirly hair...3A, 2C hair. Medium thickness, medium elasticity.
S-shaped hair with corkscrew ends. My hair is even more confused than me ;p
My hair officially hates protein Once a month is enough!
Currently a fan of TiGi products, (rock on, TiGi Curlesque styling creme!) but that will soon change - I am a self-avowed product junkie! Yay!
BIG fan of supersoaker method - thanks Rudeechick!
Yes, I love my wild hair. Other people get the same hair every time, but with my hair it's anybody's guess what will happen

Since I was kid, I'm fustarated with my frizz hair. I even tried to straighten it but failed, went to salon 2 times but they are clueless. I was so tired of wearing braids and ponytail all my life. When I was teen, I told my mom I don't care if my hair is straight or curly as long it is not frizz, I'm fine with it!! I researched and finally find naturallycurly.com and bought a book. I throw away a brush and in 3 weeks, my hair turned from frizz to curly!
Now I love it to beyond! Won't trade it for a world! I suddenly realized that my mom and her family do have curly hair but they don't know how to care it properly! They continue comb or brushing it dry!
I couldn't stop them habit is kinda hard to break...

3B/3C Recovering from heat damaged :/... almost like transitioning because most of my hair is straight it won't curl, thsi is due to sooo many years of using heat without stoping.

Braid out and twist out are my staple styles right now! Not using heat since December 2011. Still experimenting with products!
i hate mine, been natural for 11 months. i look in the mirror and always consider going back to straightening. Something inside me doesn't, so that must mean something. It's so hard just to get a trim. Once a stylist sees you're curly, they see complication. I've been turned down numerous times just because I have curly hair. The only curly hair stylist to trim my hair, cost $60. Because I have curly hair, I have to pay that much just so a stylist can cut 1/2 an inch off my hair. Needless to say, I sometimes wonder if I was cursed. I truly do. I envy all these girls who have beautiful locks, yet I look at mine and it makes me want to cry.
never liked it, i think i never will. I like other people's curls, but not my own.

So, for the first time in 20yrs I'm wearing my hair naturally & embracing my curl pattern & the versatility my hair has. I love that I can just do a wash and go an never have to blow dry or flat iron my hair. I'm almost 4months into this journey so I'm still learning but I'm loving every minute of it
I decided to embrace my natural hair at the age of 16, when i was introduced to a friends friend that had the most amazing, bouncy curls i'd ever seen! On the same day i told my mom that i wasn't doing relaxers anymore - and haven't since. Now there still was a long way from being relaxer free and taking proper care for my curly hair. But now that i know how,my curls are as beautiful as the ones that once made up my mind.

I love my curly hair and wouldn't change it for a thing in the world

I use to love it when it was shorter but now that it's getting longer l'm having issues with it. I'm sure I'll get back to loving it, though, and these are just growing pains. It's just hard when I do WnGs and my hair is dry as ever the next day. Luckily, I've started putting my hair in 4 braids at night & my hair likes that. I'm very thankful for my hair, though, I do think it's lovely.
last relaxer: june 2010. bc: october 2010.
properties: mix of 3 & 4, high density!!, medium-coarse, protein sensitive, low-normal porosity, cottony, daughter S
hair likes: garnier pure clean conditioner, v05, water & olive oil...that's literally it. so far...
four fat braids every night; moisturize or spray w/ water, seal w/ EVOO every other night.

Been browsing this site a LOT in the past 3 weeks but this is my first post. At the moment, I absolutely HATE my hair. I' ve straightened it since I was 15 and I' m now 33. So it has 18 years worth of damage and hate!!! When my hair is straight I look younger, more relaxed and more approachable. I have been trying the CG method for the past 11 days and even though I can see a difference it will still be a long time until I can ' love' my hair. I WILL get there though, no matter what it takes! Have had a few positive comments recently though since starting CG and I'm really trying to see what they saw. Made my own FSG recently and am loving it so far, it's really going to help me learn to love my curls.
Not really.

I don't like how short it appears. I don't really like short hair, and even when it gets longer it'll still appear short.
I don't like my different curls patterns. It's annoying and it's why I don't like to wear wash n goes. I have to spend more time styling.
I don't like how tight my curls are, which makes it more prone to detangling and breaking.
I don't like the crazy maintenance it takes...
I hate how it's dry all the time.
I hate how I can't even go to a salon anymore and how people refuse to treat my hair with respect

But I want to like it, and I don't want to give up since I made this choice to go natural.

Yeah I don't like my hair either. Mine is wavy and not the pretty kind. I almost wish it was curly or straight, not in the middle. It takes forever to dry, it frizzed up, after a year or being CG it's better but not what I wish it would be. I guess I should stop comparing it to other curly girls but it's hard not to.
2a/b, thick/coarse, high porosity
Depends on the day. Some days I love how they look and others I don't even want to look at them. I do wish they were tighter tho like corkscrew curls but I can't complain I thought I had lost them forever and after going pure CG my curls are making a come back. It also helps when I get compliments on my curls always puts a smile on my face especially if I thought I was having a bad hair day 😊. I wonder is it possible to go from 3a to b?
CG NEWBIE
curl type: 2c/3a on a good day
med/high porosity & high density

GOING STRONG!!! SAY NO TO HEAT!!!
Nope. Not at all actually. It's flat on top, poofy on bottom, and gets weighed down by everything and only has nice curls in one spot on certain days. Not to mention frizzy. I think that sums it up, somewhat :/
Medium texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity
