Well, speaking for myself, I WANT to love it. I want to embrace myself how I am. I am always trying to use natural products and that's how this journey started for me.

I used to straighten my hair in 5th-6th grade so much that I didn't even know it was curly! I left it to dry one day and discovered how curly it was. of course the 'fad' was straightening it, so I did until like 7th grade. 8th was more of a curly year because I loved it. freshman was more of a curly year too, and this year so far ive been straightening it because its long and more wavy. ive been trying to get it to curl again, because I love my curly hair now! I think its so much better than straight hair, even with all the hassle. I just started the CG method today and I already notice a difference!

I love that my hair is naturally curly...but some times, i get dressed and just look in the mirror and think the outfit would look so much better on me if I had straight hair. That it would complete the look better and i have no idea why...and it bugs me.

Well I get SOMETIMES. I have those times too where I'm just like OH MY GOD!! You have that straight, curly, man, woman- whatever.

But I'm talking about these people who just HATE their curls with a passion.

Why bother? Just straighten it and be happy. Natural is not worth being unhappy.

Im sorta the same its usually only seems like itd be better because I know my hair will appear long if it were straight.

I love my curls all the time. I want them longer but that just takes time. I used to look ay other ladies and wish I had theirs but as cliche as it sounds I have really gotten to the point that I appreciate that my curls are mine.

Yes. BUT my full response would have to be that when I first started letting my hair be its naturally curly self, I had a lot more days when I felt like I was convincing myself that I liked my hair. NOW, however, I can genuinely say that YES, I DO LIKE MY CURLY HAIR!!

Looking back on my "talking myself into liking my curly hair" days, I can't believe I was forgetting how many bad hair days I regularly had when I was blowdrying & flat-ironing. Of course, no matter who you are or how you wear your hair, you'll have bad hair days from time to time, but I have way fewer bad hair days now that I let my hair be itself.

This is excatly the same for me!!!.. I NEVER knew I had curly hair. When I was young my hair was straight. And I never really felt like it looked good. Thus I discovered I had wavy hair after I fried it from dying/blow drying/and flat ironing it all the time. Its been less than a year being full CG and I LOVE my hair more than ever. Now don't get me wrong, some days it drives me CRAZY. But I still love it. I wish I knew my hair could look like this 10+yes ago. I can say for my 30th bday this year..I'm looking better now(both physically and mentally) than when I was 20. I was sooo lost then. Its sad actually.

Yes that's what i think my issue is, because i also think "well if my curly hair was longer this would look nicer." I just don't think my hair flatters me right now. Glad to have someone who gets it!

I like my curly hair, always liked it. It looks awful on me if I do a big chop and it's short but that doesn't mean that I don't like my curly hair, I just don't like short hair

I'd love my hair all the time it if I could have good curly days every day (and skip the days where I look like I've been dragged through a bush ;P )

I started liking my wavy curly hair the week I started modified Curly Girl two years ago, I had spent years fighting it (too many in a 24/7 ponytail) and I felt hopeful that I could eventually have hair to be proud of. Sometimes I love it now sometimes it drives me insane, but I know I will love it properly once once I grow out the last of the damage, it's my goal length and I learn which products/ techniques suit. I certainly don't wish for naturally straight hair anymore and I do receive compliments these days which I obviously never did with the 24/7 ponytail.

I love my curly hair on a good day! Before CG I used to bun it about 12-18 hours after showering and styling. Now it has a much longer life span! I can go a full 24 hours leaving it alone and I wear a proud pony second day instead of trying to hide it in a bun

I actually don't like my hair curly but I feel more like myself when it's down n curly idk I'm just freer I guess. I also wanna grow it out and I know I should probably switch up my hair styles and not have it in a ponytail in order to do that

Sad to say it, but this. I think I've said it before. I love my 4a/3c curls... But I kinda wish they were a solid 3c.

I know, I know! Backwards thinking..

But the things I'd do with that hair.... 😌

Omg yes! For some reason I feel as if with curly hair I have to tone things down and when it's straight I can get away with a lot more.

I've never really disliked it. Even during the constant morning battles my mom and I had during my childhood, when it was the most difficult thing to care for. Of course, neither of us knew how to take care of it, and I started CO washing when I was still in elementary school without any knowledge that it would actually be better for my hair. Now that I've figured out how to care for it, is actually LESS of a hassle and 100 times prettier!

As I get older, I just like it more and more. But no one has ever really disliked my hair. Everyone thinks it's so pretty, tells me never to cut it. I just got 12 inches off though, for the first time in my life.

I'd hate to have straight hair, even though curly prevents me from having certain hairstyles. I just don't feel like me without the curls!
