Girls and boys are ALWAYS touching my hair. At first I don't mind it... it feels good, but then it will get frizzy (I should say Frizzier) Once, I was trying to sneak up on someone (I enjoy doing that to people), and she turned around, pulled my curls out, and said GOTCHA! Was grabbing my hair really necessary?

I find myself with less respect for those who straighten their hair constantly or have relaxers or whatever else is out there. I believe that if your hair is curly, wavy, or straight, your hair is beautiful as is. There are non-damaging solutions for frizz or split ends or whatever. You don't have to burn it flat or fry it with chemicals to look "good." People say love the skin you're in, same goes for hair.

I don't mind if one of my friends (or the cutie that sits next to me in health team relations!) messes with my hair--its usually in a messy bun by 4th block anyway. but if a stranger comes up and messes with my hair I'll face them and start messing with their hair. I have gotten several "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOURE DOING?!?!?!?!?" so i politely reply "exactly what you're doing to my hair." and then they all turn bright red and murmur "excuse me" and power-walk away.

Strangers don't usually mess with my hair. But sometimes while my hair is still wet my parents try to hug me, and their arm touches my wet hair. I don't mind giving them a hug but not when my hair is wet! lol.

One elderly lady that I know once boing-ed a dry curl, and I didn't mind My sister also likes to boing my curls, but with my permission.

As long as it's dry, they can touch it lightly, but not run their fingers through it or anything.

A woman I work with was touching my hair while it was still wet and I specifically told her touching it would make it frizzy and she said oh then grabbed it again and messed with it even more than the first time -like she had to get that one last grab in since she wasn't going to be able to touch it again - and said she just loved the curls. Then she walked away and continued working.
In my head I thought, "Seriously???"

Having curly hair is like being pregnant; people think they can just come up and touch you.

i can't believe people have the nerve to just randomly come up and touch your hair!

Haha, like I'll have friends that touch it, but I don't really mind unless I'm already mad.
I guess I can't really yell at them for it becuase I play with my hair ALL DAY, I understand why they want to touch it!
haha (:

Last week at work after someone asked me what I did to my hair to get it curly and after I went thru the whole spiel she dug her hands into my roots and felt around!

WTF! I wonder what she was looking for...

Last week I was on the elevator at school, and a total stranger got on, grabbed a fistful of my hair and yelled "tres jolie!" It was intended as a compliment, but was still a total invasion of personal space!

I went on a blind date with two other girlfriends of mine and it was horrible. The guy I ended up with stuck his hands in my hair, after I had just washed it and was playing in it.

And my mother stick her hands in my hair and pulls my curls out of shapes which pissed me off to no end.

I've only have four people ask to touch my hair. Two who did my hair and were entirely to rough, I heared ripping. It was horrible, so I don't even let people do my hair anymore.

I thought I was the only one mad about this...
There are so many people who don't understand.
Don't touch. The worst experience I have ever had, was when a guy at school asked if I used hibiscus in my hair. I thought he was approaching me to get a closer look. He then proceeded to grab two fists full of my fragile, gel-soaked, damp hair and put his face in it. Never again. I avoid him like the plague.

And you should!! I probably would've backhanded him....#1 reason I don't leave the house w/ wet hair....

The only time I've gotten annoyed is when a coworker was using a duster stick (sans duster) to poke at my hair. This particular guy likes to see how far he can get with anything before I react though, which doesn't usually bug me - it's like a competition...but I didn't want frizz.
My boss will pet my hair or grab a handful every now and then, others do it too, but it's never been anything that will mess it up - they've always been gentle. I take it as a compliment. Maybe it doesn't bother me because I've always been a very tactile person. If I see something that has an interesting looking texture, I have to touch it. I don't usually mess with other people's hair without asking, though...not anymore. I used to.

I've never had a stranger come up and touch my hair but when I blow it out & it's all big and fluffy I get sooo many stares(with that glint in their eyes lol) & I've had many people ask me if it's a weave. Even an Indian cab driver. I was like What does he know about weaves? lmfao My family on the other hand is totally out of control. lol I've actually had 2 family members pull, yes PULL, my hair to check if it's real. SO RUDE!

My mum has a friend who will always compliment my hair then run her fingers through it when I see her. It's so frustrating!! She's a curly herself so you'd think she would know better!

The only person that seems like they cannot stop touching my hair is my little, almost two year-old nephew . He likes to 'boing' and scrunch the curls. Fortunately, he is rather gentle and even 'loves' on my curls.
He too, has some loose curls in his hair.

Haha, soo glad I'm not the only one that feels like this!

Omg I feel like a circus animal at school. When i meet someone they're always like "I love your hair! It's so cool!" Then proceed to fluff it and boing it and make it al frizzy.... Ugh and then I feel bad for telling them off because they just complimented me and everything... Where as my family, they never ever touch my hair. The other day I was like "Mom, how come you guys never touch my hair and stuff, I mean with my friends it's so out of control but with you guys, it's like it's nothing diferent!" My mom started laughing and said "When you were little, like 2, you'd always freak out when we and strangers would touch your hair, we just learned to control ourselves!" So I guess it's been that way forever with me! Hehe but seriously we HAVE to spread awareness regarding this issue...

There's this one girl that likes to stick pencils through my ringlets. Like it's a game or something. I don't mind usually, unless they are doing something that'll frizz my hair. That's just not allowed.

I don't mind people touching my hair as long as it's genuine and flattering. People usually just grab one of the curls framing my face and ask if they're real. If someone grabs a full hand especially from the back (cause I can barely define it there) they'll be having it for sure (Thanks for the tip Kenzallan, I'll remember it if someone grabs a full hand of curls).
The first two times my husband touched my head when it was still wet, I went nuts I told him that touching it wet makes it frizzy, so now he teases me about it, like he pretends that his hand accidentally touched my head and then makes a funny sorry face like he didn't mean it. When I told him that I really really don't like it he started using my little daughter, he picks her up and tell her look at mommy give her a hug ... It's just so funny I laugh instead of getting upset. But he knows better than touching my hair if we're going for a dinner or we're invited somewhere, that is not funny at all!!
