I am with curlypearl somewhat on this. My scalp gets tender periodically in certain places. I do scalp massage with my fingertips on dry hair while I am watching TV or reading online and it stops the pain/tenderness. I also make sure I do it gently when I CO wash. After a few nights of doing this for less than a minute, the tenderness/pain is gone. This recurs for me over time and I just start the scalp massage routine again. If I maintain the scalp massage on a regular basis, I don't get the pain/tenderheadedness.
