Hair Type 3b - Severally Damaged

My hair is dry and heat damaged. I used to straighten it almost everyday for a year. Now I want to get my curls back and embrace them. I do a coconut oil deep condition probably about once a week, where I put melted coconut oil on my damp hair and let it stay on over night. Just doing this alone is not getting my curls back though!

I was hoping someone had some more tips to help me on my journey to getting my curls back and damage free
If your hair is severely damaged unfortunately nothing can bring that back to health, hair is dead so cannot permanently be repaired. Sometimes curl is temporarily lost due to dehydration but it can be permanently lost due to damage to the protein structure of the hair, so you may need to lose some length.

For hair closer to the roots that is less damaged try a combination of hydrolysed protein treatments, coconut oil and honey soaks (clean dry hair may absorb better), making sure every product in your routine is hydrating your hair, go 'strict' Curly Girl instead of shampooing, stop all heat styling.

What is your routine at present? Have you considered a hair analysis like Komaza Care to see how far up the hair the severe damage is? They can tell you exactly how much needs to be trimmed away.

I have gotten two major cuts where they have taken 5-7 inches off. It did help but is still very very dry.

I may have to look into the hair analysis and see if that helps
stop completely use heat . and MOISTURIZE your hair .. that will help .. you made much damage to your hair so it will probably take a while

I'm in the same boat.

Repetitive coloring and straightening did a number on mine. I just had an inch cut off and treating with oils and without that damaged weight, my curls have sprung back up
Fine 3B/C curls.
Currently growing out damage caused by straightening and coloring.
I would suggest a lot of conditioning, hair oils and creams, and staying away from heat completely.
