regrowth after chemo

Hi all,

My hair is growing in after being bald for six months! Prior to chemo my 2C hair was dyed a dark brown but as it came in a silvery gray I decided to wait and see how it looks after six months of regrowth. The texture is much straighter and finer so far.

My question is, do any of you curlies have gray hair and if you do, do you have any suggestions for cute hairstyles? I'm currently at the pixie length but depending on the hair texture I may decide to let it grow longer.

Thanks,

Silverpixie
I don't have an answer to your question, but I had to drop in and say how inspiring it is to hear from people like you who have been through chemo and have wonderful positive attitudes toward life and who are ready to move on and be beautiful

LauraL,

I appreciate your support but when you think about it, what options do you have? Life is precious and you may as well make the best of the time that you do have and enjoy everything!

As trivial as it may seem hair is fun!!!!

Tough one. It must have been really hard going through those tough times. All I could think of is to clip it back into a barrette. play around with it. You can try all types of barrettes. i have a couple with pearls on them or some with flowers on them, or jewels. That way you can have short hair and still look feminine.
Well, I ventured to a salon (Wild Hare) that a friend recommended and a stylist cut my hair dry!
What a difference it made. She managed to create a style out of my shapeless pixie. The best part is that there is minimal maintenance. I simply wash with pantene silver expressions conditioner and apply VO5 leave in conditioner for silver hair.
My hair air dries in seconds and is amazingly soft and silky.
I honestly don't think I'll ever grow it long again!

i went thru chemo too...i used rocked my hair however it dryed after washing because it was so cute so i kno urz is too...and it grew extra fast when i didnt do to much to it..it took some getting used too but i got over it lol
congratulations on being done with chemo! being able to eat without throwing up is truly a delight As for the hair, mine came in straight and platinum blonde for the first few inches, but now it's back to dark brown and curly. it's gonna be pretty crazy for a while, but after a few months, once ALL the toxins are out of your system, it'll go back to normal.
