(I just put the message found below in the newbies section, only realizing after I submitted it that there was probably a more appropriate place for it. Sorry about that. Have never done this before!)
Hello... Just joined earlier today and I was a perfectly happy curly head until about a couple of hours ago. I went to take a shower and found a quarter sized bald spot an inch in from my hair line and 1/2 inch to the left of my center part. I asked my husband to check the rest of my head and he found 11 more bald spots that range from the size of a button on a dress shirt to the size of a Looney (Canadian Dollar Coin). They are all over my head!!!
I'm not a PJ but had decided to try a few new products over the past couple of weeks. I have been following the CG routine for about 8 months without any problems. I have a lot of super thick and coarse 3b hair so it's quite possible that I have had these bald spots for a while, but they were completely hidden. This could have started anywhere from a month ago to within the past 24 hours.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing happening?
All the new products I tried are listed below:
- Swav Moisture Conditioner (Been using for about a month)
- Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel (Used it only once or twice, but it never touched my scalp)
- esencia white lotus and nettle conditioner (Used only once - last night)
- cantu shea butter leave-in conditioner (Used only once - last night)
- LOTD AVG, Jojoba Oil, Glycerin, and xanthan gum (combined these at home, supposed to be similar to KCCC
) (Used it twice - thursday and friday)
- Flaxseed Gel (Used it once - Saturday)
It would be a shame if any of these were the problem, because as far as my hair itself was concerned, it has never been this frizz free! (I gave the Cantu and Esencia good reviews earlier today, so I hope I can change my review if one of those are to blame.)
I'm going to make an appointment with a doctor in the morning just to be on the safe side. I hope it's nothing permanent or serious!
I would really love to hear from anyone who's experienced this.
