bikini waxes

i don't know if this is the right forum for this question but-

everytime I wax my bikini line it is fine for like 2 or 3 weeks and then it comes back in forming all sorts of little red bumps. Does anyone know if there anything i can do to prevent this?
i get this same issue! they always recommend you exfoliate, but that doesnt seem to help it much! and its so weird because it happens to me 2 to 3 weeks later as well! what i think i have noticed, but i may be off, is that when i used to see this other lady (much more expensive), she did the job in 1 swift motion per area and i never got the bumps. but this new lady, she goes over the same area a couple times, and i think that is why i get more irritated. not sure if theres science in that, but that's what i have noticed. i would rather pay more then get the bumps. but unfortunately, that lady is in NYC and i now live in GA.

well i just found out that someone recommends patting rubbing alcohol on the area as the bumps come in... i'm going to try it
there is this product called tendskin that it is specifically for razor bumps and smells like alcohol. i think it has like asprin in it as well (i guess to anti-inflam the area). i got some samples and i use it right after shaving or waxing and it works! the only thing, like u mentioned before, i get the bumps later! i'm sure the tendskin could be applied at anytime, but i dunno how it would work if you did apply it weeks later. good luck to us! lol.

Yeah, it sounds like ingrown hairs (the hair that's growing in gets trapped). Exfoliating should help... and they have medicated pads/creams that you can buy at the drugstore.

I know when you shave, ingrown hairs can happen when you shave in the wrong direction, so it might be something similar with waxing.
Tend Skin is a Godsend! It contains both alcohol and aspirin. I'm prone to ingrown hairs so I usually use it at least once a day for the first 5-7 days after waxing. You can also start using it after you develop the bumps. The bottle recommends using it twice a day until the ingrown hairs/bumps are gone, though.

Burgundy Locks, I've noticed the same thing, too. If it takes more than one time in the same area I'm tend to developing ingrown hairs, too. Sounds like it's time to find another waxer!
