Birth Control Pills and Hair Growth

Hi All,

I am about to go on Ortho Tri Cyclen again, and I'm wondering if there are any benefits to being on the Pill as far as hair growth is concerned?

I was on it before as a teenager and cannot remember if there were any benefits at that time.

Any information would be helpful!

Thanks!
Kelly
I haven't noticed a change in my hair since taking the pill in either curl pattern or growth.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
I've been on it since about June, and I've noticed my hair is alot thinner and I'm shedding ALOT more. The first few months my hair was thick and shiny, even thought it's relaxed and color treated. It's been downhill since about August. I haven't been doing anything different as far as my hair routine, so it's not like it's overprocessed or over conditioned. I'm thinking about going off them, but that's even more of a hassle. I think I'm going to double up on the protein packs and hope I don't lose much more. Makes me so sad...
Oh y'all, that's just her crazy showing.

LOVE to COLOR.
OK, I think I might know why taking pills cause you hair loss. Most pills work on lowering the ovulation phase by also lowering related hormones, which in turn causes hormones like testosterone to go up, or possibly causing good hormones for hairs to go down. Then testosterone becomes dihydro-testosterone (DHT) in scalp causing hair loss. Wow! Iím proud of myself!

Why do I know this? Because my sister and I went through the same thing and we ended up trying proanagen shampoo. So far so goo. Their link is http://www.proanagen.com

I think you can help. How? Beside what you think, can you be kind and giving and sharing and willing to say if excess of certain hormons vs. others would impacts one's body, weight, shape and even hair loss or hair gain? Maybe if I was saying a site like selling rat poisen then you might have think I'm not only selling but I'm truly truly making contribution here.

Now I hope you are not selling anything and you could shed some light on pills, hormons and their relationships.
