Does your fine, porous hair get weighed down?
It takes a lot to weigh my hair down. I was wondering if it is because it is fine and porous, or if it is totally unrelated. What is your experience with fine porous hair and it getting weighed down?

mine does a lot - if it even sniffs a too heavy conditioner. I virtually keep mine on the edge of dryness as the minute I give it too much co/cream anything like that its floppy, flat & heavy looking.

My hair gets weighed down easily. I can use some heavier products in moderation on wet hair, but using those same heavy products on dry hair will leave me flat.

After I asked this question, I realized that I know a few people on the forum and in real life that are fine, porous and get weighed down.
Yet another one of my crackpot theories that turns out to be wrong. I'm gunna have a crack pot theory that gets proven right one day. Just wait and see.

I don't think I get weighed down easily at all, even when my hair is a little less porous than now, and I have thin hair on top of it being fine and porous! Stylists never use enough product in my hair, and when I first started CG, I was afraid to use as much gel and creams and whatnot as I do now.
The only time I seem to get weighed down is using extremely extremely heavy products in excess. I can use heavy conditioners and gels, no problem. So I guess it kind of depends on what type of product it is? A butter or oil, and I can only take those things in small amounts if I don't want to get weighed down.

It depends on the product.. it does take more than I thought to get weighed down.. It happens more when my hair is straight, my natural oils will kill all chances of volume by day 3. With it curly its a different case. I think you are partially right.
I saturate my hair with coconut oil and let it set overnight and its only slightly greasy when I wake up. By the end of the day my hair sucks it up completely!
Lately to seal in more moisture ive been running butters through the length of my dry hair, it does not weigh down my fro at all, unless I go overboard. I never thought id be able to do that before!

My fine hair never gets weighed down. Once in a while I can overdo the oils and just end up with oily hair, but never heavy or lank - my spirals are rather resilient!

I can definitely get weighed down - it's super hard to find a conditioner that is moisturizing enough and light enough. Blerg.
But I've been experimenting with a diffuser lately - unfortunately, while I can get killer volume with it, I also get some renegade flyaways all over the place.
My hair is so finicky. Like a picky toddler.
Come to think of it, like me as a toddler.
