Summer help for high porosity

As I posted before, I recently discovered my hair is highly porous and with medium dewpoints, adding humectants made my hair look great.

But it's going to get hot and very humid (and high dewpoints) here in NYC in the summer. So what are some of the things you do for porous hair in high heat and humidity/dewpoints?

Cut back on humectants?
Add anti-humectants?
More or less protein?
More or less moisture?
More hold from stylers?

What products do you use in the summer?
For my hair, liquid/gel stylers with soft to medium hold; humectants, and fewer protein treatments.

I like the fullness more during the hot and very humid (and high dewpoints) weather because my hair looks and feels very soft. It also has more bounce.
