Arrow High Porosity Regimen?

Hello everyone So I'm wondering what you curlies use on a daily basis for your highly porous hair. Do you only use conditioners and styling products? Do you use any 'poos? The reason I ask is because I just discovered my hair is porous. I use Suave Coco condish, KCKT/KCCC, and my hair just kept frizzing up and couldn't hold a curl pattern no matter what It started to discourage me from the CG method, but now I want to see if a new regimen can help. I found the Roux Porosity Control Condish and I think the 'poo isn't CG, so if anyone can help me out and give me some insight I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I do frequent protein treatments (usually homemade with gelatin) and I use honey.

Day 1: Cowash and condition with AO GPB, ACV Rinse,
Co-Kra gel (this stuff is fantastic)

Day 2: KCKT, KCCC, plop, KCCC, plop again, air dry
Day 3: Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Coil Jam
Day 4: IAGirl's PT, KBB DT, FSG

Co-Kra gel is my own concoction of okra boiled in coconut milk. It is a cross between FSG and KCCC and leaves my hair very soft and shiny

Sorry for the late reply. My hair only does well with protein. Kccc all that other stuff from the line did nothing for me. It has no protein. For me, I wash and condition with something moisturizing. For styling I was trader joes nourish spa as my leave in. It has some proteins in it. I than apply my gel. Right now it's la looks in sport or polished perfect. They contain a fair amount of protein. I do a protein treatment every three weeks. I found out the whole abba line is full of protein. I tried the finish gel and my hair came out great. The goal is to have at least half of your products with protein in them. Preferably the styling products

I also recently discovered I was high porosity, and now all my dry hair woes make sense! I agree that protein is super important to fill in the "holes" and help seal your cuticle. I usually make my own mask for DC with egg and mayo and honey. Today I'm trying avocado with it! Also lately I've been doing an apple cider vinegar rinse after I shampoo once a week and it's worked wonders! I usually put about 2 1/2 cups of cold filtered water and 2 tbsp of unfiltered ACV and use that as my final rinse (sometimes I "cheat" and follow with a sprinkle of cold water b/c of the smell!). Also, I'm still trying to find the right oil to seal in moisture. So far I've tried coconut oil which I like because it's actually absorbed into the hair and also seals. I can't quite say if it's the best yet because I've been trying all types of products on top of that lately with various results. HTH!

On a daily basis, I dampen my hair with water and use a moisturizing spritz at least once a day. I do use a styler only once before the next shampoo/lo-poo/no-poo day which is usually 10-12 days away. My daily style is the twist with a few days of twist outs.

Pretty simple daily routine, but it works for me.

protein has been amazing for my hair. i use hydrolyzed keratin that i dilute with water and spray before my dc's and then again before my moisturizer (well, only when i moisturize on wash day...not EVERY time i moisturize). my hair had absolutely no spring/boing back action...would smooth my fingers over my hair to the ends and my hair would just stretch out and stay there. the protein brought back the boing for me as well as helping my dcs and moisturizers work a bit more successfully (instead of my hair feeling good for 3 minutes and then feeling like i hadnt done anything to my hair at all).

I use Marrekesh shampoo, it's sulfate free. You can also try co-washing, and see if that works. L'oreal came out with a cleansing conditioner, so that you don't have to shampoo, but I haven't tried it yet. I may pick some up the next time i go to Target

Redken Time Reset series helps with frizz, as well the the Spiral Solutions Strength and Shine Leave-in Protein Spray.

Deep Conditioning once a week, as well as spritzing my hair every so often helps, too.
