Default Rum and Egg for Porous Hair

A beautician (retired) told me recently about this conditioning treatment for dry, porous hair. Here's the recipe:
--3 tablespoons of rum
--1 egg yolk
--(Optional)- 1 teaspoon of castor oil for moisture

*You can double or triple the recipe if this is not enough.

For shine, you can add teaspoon of olive oil or your oil of preference.

Cover hair with a plastic cap overnight, or place in a bun (and/or) while doing house work for at least 30 minutes. Then shampoo, and follow with an ACV rinse. Afterward, do a DT.

I'll try this next time! If you try it, share the results.

Somewhere there is a recipe for rum with egg that you can drink (LOL) like egg nog, and after that, your (my) horrid high porosity hair won't seem so bad. In fact, just about everything will improve - temporarily.

Not "dissing" your idea, just amused by the idea of rum and egg in one's hair. I had too much wine for dinner - blame it on that.

LOL! Maybe "wine" and egg would work as well. Might as well try both recipes.

I use this recipe in my hair about once a week and it really help my hair get less frizzy. I always add a little castor oil to speed up hairgrowth and evoo for shine. Since my hair is very porous this treatment kind of close my haircuticles and it also make my hair look shinier and healthy.
Will use this for ever

Default I Tried It!

Even though I tripled the mixture, I ran out part way. But that was OK, because then I had a comparison experiment.

The hair with the rum and egg was stronger, shinier, and had noticeably less frizz. It was also less tangled. The hair that didn't have the treatment on it was its usual tangled self.

The next few times, I'll try the following variations:

1. Six eggs and the same ratio
2. Six eggs and six teaspoons of tamanu oil
3. Six eggs and use white wine instead of rum
4. Six eggs and use red wine instead of rum
