Default Silly question, but...

What are some definite signs of porous hair?
Some hair dresser told me my hair is porous, while another told me its not :/
How important is porousity when it comes to hair care? I know how it matters when bleaching/colouring hair but that's it.
I'm guessing mine might be porous, so if I find it is, what are some tips for porous hair??
Thanks

If your hair loses moisture quickly , it could be porus .
One thing I know that works is sealing .
I look foward to other tips too

Here are some signs:

1. When you pour a glass of water on your hair, from the top, it goes straight through and does not bead up on hair.

2. Hair tangles very easily, even after detangling.

3. Need to moisturize every 2-3 days.

4. Frizzes easily.

5. Hair needs a lot of product due to lack of retention.

I've never had a hair analysis done, but in trying to figure out my own hair properties, I've been told the following as factors highly porous hair:

Hair that wets easily
(water does not bead up on hair). My hair soaks up water immediately.

Hair that drys quickly. With diffusing, my hair is dry within a 1/2 hr-45minutes.

Hair that is highlighted or color treated tends to be highly porous.

Hope that helps - my 2cents worth of info )
