humectant free gel
hi,
I recently found out that using glycerin in the dry winter air makes my hair very frizzy. I'm now looking for a glycerin, and maybe even better, an humectant free gel. And that's harder than I tought it would be! Does anyone have suggestions?

loves: CJ products, jessicurl rocking ringlets, proteïn, co-washing, leave-in conditioner, diffusing, air-drying, pineapple method.
hates: glycerin in low dews, bleaching too much
Experimenting with MSM&biotin on the moment

Im not sure...Hopefuly someone will chime in...Im still confused on whats hemectant product...But I think CJCQ and KCCC either contain no glycerin or its low on the ingredient list...I love and use both of these gels...I seem to get glycerin induced frizz in high dews...

How about flax seed gel, I don't think it has anything in it that would dry your hair out.

I use Aussie Instant Freeze. This summer our dews were really high, and now they're really low. This is the only gel that doesn't cause me any frizz. I've got about 4 tubes stashed! Glycerin is the only thing that really causes me problems. It's only around $3, so it's worth a try! I did a search on it and came up with this...
ETA: I checked the ingredients on mine, they must have changed it. Here are the current ingredients (notice there's no panthenol in it anymore) water, laureth 23, ppolyquaternium 4, hydroxyethylcellulose, benzyl alcohol, acrylates/beheneth 25 methacrylate copolymer, aminomethyl propanol, dmdm hydantoin, fragrance, prunus serotina bark extract (wild cherry), acrylates copolymer, Disodium edta.

I think CJ's Pattern Pusha was designed to be a humectant free low dew/high dew gel. I got a bottle during the Black Friday sales and have been using it with good results. It is not HG status for me though because it makes my hair fluffy and full and I prefer the glossy and controlled look of glycerin products. The pic is me on Day 3 hair with PP.

thanks for all the recommendations! I'll try jessicurl confident coils, CJ curl queen and kinky curly curling custard. The rest of it is (as far as I know) not available for me, because I live in the Netherlands. Thank you guys!

If you want a homemade gel, i eould try flaxseed gel - it's only water and flaxseed ...so i don't think that it would dry your hair out

I have discovered I have frizz problems with glycerin too and kinky curly knot today and curling custard have both been working great for me. Goddess Curls Gel has also given good results. It's so hard finding glycerin free stuff!
