Default Help ! One side is curlier then the other!!

Im 14 and I am just thrilled with starting the natural hair jounrey. Ive never had a relaxer or any chemicals put in my hair. So i guess you can say ive always been natural. The only thing is my curls look very unusal. The right side of my hair is a bit more curly than the left. Before i started the whole curly hair concept, i would have my hair presses by the domicans at a salon or simply striaghten my own hair. My hair discription:

Type- 3c/3b

Porosity- high

Density- high

Width- coarse/ medium

Length- 10" (long)

I just want my curls to work with me. Ive been wearing a ponytail which looks fine, but i want to wear it all out without it looking unusal. My family has long hair and i recently talked to my mom about a big chop and starting all over. She had mixed feelings because she doesnt want to see me cut off any length. Is there anyway for me to get my 3c curls back looking healthy and periodicly cutting off heat damage? Please help!?! Thanks.

Help ! One side is curlier then the other!!-imageuploadedbycurltalk1373297110.483365.jpg

Welcome! Firstly I think you have stunning hair.

It doesn't look to me like your right and left are that different, it looks like your canopy (top section) is a looser curl than the side sections. That could be natural for you, could be down to the extra length on the top or more damage there or even the side you sleep on. You can try scrunching product into the canopy and raking or smoothing it onto the sides. Can also apply clips to the sides to weight it down a little as it dries, see YouTube for videos on stretching out curl/ avoiding shrinkage.

Omg, I have the same problem and properties accept my hair is more 3b then 3c. I started applying deva curlultra defining gel all over and on the canopy(which is 3c) in a downward motion, I also cut my looser side so it looks bigger and more like the tighter side

If you sleep on one side that side will be loser and possibly thinner
