QOD Max White + Color - Going for it!

Hi all. I purchased the QOD Max White & I am so excited to try it. This is my first BKT. I couldn't afford it at the salon so I spent some time on this forum reading about everyone's experiences and was inspired to do it myself.

For some reason, my ebay seller keratin4u is not responding to my questions. Maybe someone here can help....

First question: I'm going to start by coloring. Do I wash with the clarifying shampoo then color, then rinse out color and start the BKT process? Or do I color, rinse, then wash with the clarifying shampoo?

Second question: The QOD Max White only needs to be in my hair for 6 hours. I planned on doing this Saturday afternoon, then going to bed after its been 6 hours, then waking up & doing my normal routine (workout & then shower/wash hair). Or should I wash out the White after 6 hours? What have you guys done with your express BKTs?

Thank you for your help - if I hadn't found this forum I never would have decided to do this!!

instructions

Heard back from keratin4u:

"You should color your hair first than you can wash with the clarifying shampoo and than apply the treatment.
I did the same thing. I did the treatment in the afternoon than only washed the hair the next morning. before you wash the hair just falt iron again a bit."

I did the treatment yesterday, am about to wash it out now. It did make my eyes water a little, but otherwise, it smelled like white chocolate and I didn't have any problems.

How did it turn out aloha? I had the same questions as I color and BKT too. I get the color done at a salon, but BKT myself. I come home after the color and use the clarify shampoo and then apply the BKT.
I have not heard of this version of the Qod Max, but am interested if it allows you to wash after 6 hours. Let us know how it goes! Thanks

Yes, I did the BKT right after coloring. I did use the conditioner that came with the color, but then washed twice with the clarifying shampoo, so conditioning was pointless. I dried my hair to 80% dry per the instructions, and applied the BKT, then flat ironed. By the time the 6 hours had passed, it was bedtime, so I let it sit on my hair overnight. I did do a low-sweat workout, then flat ironed again before I washed it. I'm used to light hair washing - just cleaning the scalp really, so I noticed that after I washed my hair I could still smell the BKT. I got a little nervous, and decided to dry & flat iron my hair, just in case it made a difference that it was still in my hair. I hate to wash too much right after a color application.

Overall my hair is much smoother with no frizz. My hair is pretty long and thick, with frizzy curls. Interestingly, my hair was stick straight until I had my son. Suddenly I had curly hair that drove me crazy. The main reason I wanted the BKT was so that I could just get up & go in the mornings, and not be a slave to my flat iron. My hair is pretty damaged, and I could never keep my hair straight even after styling it. It looks like I still have volume and light curls (I was hoping for super straight), but I'll know for sure once I actually let it air dry.

I would definitely do another "express" treatment - I definitely couldn't last 3 days without sweating or pulling it back. I think there's another one out there that only takes an hour, I might try that one next. I picked up a couple of small bottles of Pureology, and I ordered Coppolla's Color Care that hopefully will get here by the end of the week. I read a lot about after care, and even though its pricey, its sulfate & salt free, and supposedly designed for BKT. I can't wait to see how long it lasts!

A salon person told me that if you color before BKT
you should clarify first, then color dry hair and then start the BKT process. He's a professional that does it all the time and that was his response to my question.
Also, it sounds like you missed a step, after applying the BKT, you are suppose to blowdry your hair (unless this Qod is different) and then flat iron????
I use Qod Max and Gold so I'm eager to try the new Qod White.

Can't wait to hear about your results! I DEF want to try the white. Which Pureology did you buy? I've read a lot about Pureology not being BKT safe. Not sure why, but people have said it strips it. Did you check all ingredients online?

I think it depends on the product. Per keratin4u, the White should be applied after color & clarifying shampoo. Your way makes sense too, rather than washing out the color with the clarifying shampoo.

I did dry my hair to 80% dry per the instructions, and then flat iron.

Oddly enough, while I was waiting for keratin4u to answer my questions, I did some major googling to answer my own questions. I couldn't find any real product info or user experience with the White. Not even on the QOD website. I was going to order the standard QOD after reading everyone's experiences, then when I saw the listing on Ebay for the White, I just jumped on it without doing any research.

I read a lot about sulfate-free salt-free shampoo/conditioner here, then decided I wanted to try as many as I could, lol. I bought the Hydrate by Pureology, just the 2 oz bottles from Ebay to try. According to their site, they are sulfate & salt free. But there's something about their products that others have complained about stripping the BKT. Finally decided to get Coppola Keratin Color Care - I just want to make sure I do everything possible to get this last, lol.

I love the results so far, but I'm kindof questioning the color process along with the BKT. Not sure I was given the right instructions, so we'll see. My hair feels much smoother, its not as straight as I had hoped but it only took me 10 minutes to blow dry (on low heat) & flat iron - normally takes me over 10 minutes just to dry on high heat. So definitely a timesaver, and for once my hair is really frizz free. I would do it again!!

QOD WHITE

Hi everyone
I was reading the blog and just wanted to clarify that we are the only QOD distributor that sells QOD White for now. QOD WHITE is the newest release in the market. For the aftercare I would recommend either Gold or Max afterkit shampoo and conditioner. Also I recommend QOD Fast at least once a week to maintain the treatment and hydrate the hair. Also would like to clarify that some customers might not see that pin straight result on the first application. It all depends on the hair type and condition. The treatments will have even better results by the second application. You can also alternate between QOD MAX(either white or regular) and QOD Gold.
Any questions don't hesitate to email me and aloha I apologize for any delay in answer but just realized that your email was on the spam box.
