Hair loss with QOD Gold?

Has anyone experienced any hair loss after using QOD Gold? Thanks!
Any of you had any hair loss or thinning following the use of any QOD product?

It has formaldehyde derivatives, but no raw formaldehyde. I've read that formaldehyde can cause damaged hair follicles leading to hair loss over time. But I haven't found any hair loss reports online due to QOD specifically (did find way too many hair loss stories concerning a few of the other brands though ).
Well, I did try Gold about 3 months ago, and, yes, I suddenly noticed a doubling in the amount of shedding. I have not used it since, and I have gone back to my normal amount of shedding, I think. It's hard to tell, but I don't notice the heart-stopping amount I had last month. I've used Gold 2 or 3 times. I usually use Max, and the last time I did my roots, I used my Max again. My bf was noticing lots of shedding of his hair as well, so we weren't sure what was to blame. I'm also 44, so who knows if it was just hormones.

I was wondering about the formaldehyde damaging hair follicles over time, too. Especially since I had been doing my roots every 3-4 weeks since Nov '09. I think I'm going to give my hair a rest from all of this for awhile. The new growth curly hair at my roots gives me some much-needed volume anyway for now.

I hope others chime in on this topic.

I just realized that you are trying to find out about this BEFORE trying QOD. D'oh! For some reason, I thought you had experienced hair loss with QOD Gold, and I was getting ready for a commiseration session! I'm really unclear as to what caused my own excessive hair shedding episode. Over the past 5 months, I have been following a moderately strict diet, and I work out fairly vigorously 6-7 days/wk, so it may have been a protein intake issue, which I have now increased. I also increased my iron intake and stopped scrubbing my scalp with my fingertips and not so vigorously. Or, as mentioned above, it may have been a hormonal issue, given my age. I lose what seems like a lot of hair anyway because my hair is mid-back length, and I have a lot of it.

I know this isn't really helpful, but it makes me feel better to know that this was not a situation of you, too, suffering hair loss after using QOD Gold.

AphroDiva has used QOD Max for longer than me, and she even uses it regularly as part of a leave-in conditioning mixture. She has not reported any excessive hair shedding. I hope that helps!
