DIY Qod Max White

I used this keratin last night and awaiting to wash it out today. I did this before bed (took 3 hours) and even though you can wash out after 6 hours, I slept, worked and will get to wash it out soon (after about 11 hours total in hair).

First of all, I think this is the strongest of the formulas that I have ever had done. That is, if fumes and smell have anything to do with it. I have previously had coppola and la brasiliana in the salons and done Inoar on my own. I am of course waiting for the results, but if they are the same as inoar, I will go back to that one. With all keratins, I have had minimal eye tearing at times. However, this stuff kind of knocked me away a few times and I also had a wierd feeling in my throat.

I set up my bathroom so I could have the fan blowing directly on my face with the window wide open behind me. I took more precautions with this stuff and it still got to me more.

My hair seemed to love this keratin and it drank it right up! The product is very easy to work with and does not drip and it was very easy to paint on the hair with my haircolor brush. I used a little less than 2 oz for my shoulder length hair. It became very shiny and silky when I was flat ironning. I do not like the smell at all. I love white chocolate and this does not smell anything like it when applied to the hair. Smells good from the bottle, but thats about it. I have been bothered by the smell all day and can't wait to get this out of my hair. I hope one wash will be enough. So, that's it for now. I will be washing soon and will post back.

Well I have washed and let air dry. My hair is crazy shiny! I have a slight wave going on, but still have my body. Very silky and shiny. I did trim the ends a bit after I flat ironned because they seemed very dry. My hair was very dry before the treatment and I didn't use too much heat on the ends as I was afraid of frying them. I also only went to 430 degrees on the flat iron this time (as opposed to 450). So, I am impressed with Qod max White, but still concerned about the fumes last night. My hair has a slight odor from the keratin still, but it is mild and not bothering me. Not like how I felt last night - that was just nasty smelling to me. I am going to try and just throw a few curls in it tommorrow with a large barrel curling iron, but if it's too flat, I may have to shampoo again. We'll see how long this lasts!

ionar?
Hi hairguru - the verdict is still out on inoar vs. Qod. If it wasn't for the fumes/smell I would probably say yes. I should probably know what the level of formaldehyde is being used in each product, but haven't checked into that.

My hair looks and feels great. But then again, is it because this is my sixth keratin treatment? I also was very meticulous with this treatment and worked on very small sections at a time. It makes me think that alot of the success in my keratin is the application process more than the stuff. So, I will wait it out and see how this one goes - but so far, so good! Today it is heavy rain, so I'm just sporting flat, straight hair anyways. I'll post again after a few washes and see how I like it.

Hi Hairguru - I don't know if I caught you in time before you stated! My first step is - take a nap before you start I took a nice afternoon nap so I would be well rested and up for the 3 hour job. Seriously, the previous time, I got so tired that I ended up rushing to finish and now that was my downfall.

My hairdryer is 1875 too. I actually just bought a new one because I thought my old one wasn't good enough. The main thing this time was I did very small sections of hair. I started off by clipping my hair in six sections and started in the back (curliest part). I painted on the Qod with a color brush in 1/4 - 1/2 inch sections. Made sure the entire section was well coated and combed through with a fine tooth comb at least three times before going on to the next piece. I also would recombed the hair each time I finished a new section. I also used a mirror to check on the back of my hair everytime I put the keratin on. I think in the past I rushed the back, especially the underneath and it would be curly and frizzy with straighter hair on top. This time I made sure I was treating every section carefully. Except I have this one piece that is on the side of my hair that is still curly! Haha - guessed I missed that one!

Flat ironned on 430 degrees and made about 7 passes - sometimes more. Went to bed for five hours and got up and redid my entire head with the flat iron again. Washed it out later that day.

Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!!

Hey!

I'm actually sitting here with the QOD max on my head as a I type ( eyes watering and all)....lol! The price we pay for beauty! Anyway, yes this time I used the color brush and a fine tooth comb. I will try QOD white when I finsh the max product. It's already 10pm and i haven't even Started flat ironing yet...sigh...I plan t be up until 1amish..lol Oh well! For me, it always takes the second wash before...usually 2 weeks post treatment before i can really assess how my hair took. Can't wait to try qod white so I can see sooner! lol
