QOD max on ebay. The real deal?

So, I purchased my first 4 ounce bottle of QOD max from Keratintoday ( aka keratin4u) who claims to be an authorized retailer of the product. Many of the people on this site use his stuff and swear by it. It was thick and smelled sweet. i only did a partial treatment with this stuff on my bangs and it was okay. I knew I'd be doing another treatment soon after because my curls were still too tight at the roots.

Well, times are hard and I had accidentally spilled some of the Kerain4u QOD max, so I needed to buy more, but didn't want to spend the 30 bucks,

Another seller by the name of braziliankeratin also sells QOD max, but claims to sell 5 ounces for $25. Here's the thing...the product I received from this guy is nothing like the QOD max I got from keratintoday. this stuff is more watery, smells more chocolaty, and is darker in color. the color is more of a chocolate milkeshake, whereas keratin4u's QOD max is more peachy tan in color. Furthermore, his bottle is the same size as Keratin 4u, so it ain't 5 ounces either. Also, the fumes were MUCH worse and my hair felt waaaay more coated. I have no idea what my hair will look like because I have to wait until Sunday to wash it, but I wanted to see if anyone has purchased authentic QOD max before and what your thoughts are.
I bought the full size bottle of QOD Max White (granted, I got it from keratin4u). Unless they're making actually fake printed bottles then what I have is legit (it works). The product I have is white, lotion-like, and produces some significant fumes during blow-drying. It smells cocoa-y, and that smell stays in my hair for a couple of shampoos. It's like the smell of cocoa extract though, not the smell of synthetic chocolate perfume. What I have isn't brown or beige in any way.
Thanks Spookychan, but QOD max white is a different product entirely so I'm not surprised the consistancy and color is different.

Anyone else buy a retail sized QOD max treatment? If so, what was the color and consistancy?
I don't have an answer for you hairguru, but wanted to add my two cents in about ebay. I have bought my products from ebay, keratin4u is one of the sellers I bought from. I did just read an article or blog someplace, not sure where, that stated to beware of ebay keratin sellers. Some were tested and they were clearly not the original product and were diluted. Some also had way more formaldehyde in them than the original product too. This concerned me of course - I wonder if your second purchase was a knock-off with more formaldehyde? I'm feeling like I need to stick to one brand and buy an original bottle.
I hope you get some answers about the Qod you bought, bc I'm curious now.

I know keratin4u is the IT seller on ebay, but I figured I'd take a gamble. I would like to find a retail store that actually sells the real stuff just to compare.

It worries me that those sellers selling the "sample" bottles are compensating are taking product out of the big bottles then compensation the "lost" product with water, then sell both.

The first Purchased I made was a 34oz bottle of QOD from seller BrazilianKeratin. Since I have never seen this product before, it was all good.

I was satisfied with my first seller, BrazilianKeratin, because the product delivered what it promised, shipping was fast, even tho the product spilled a bit in the box, I was still happy. I got my HUGE bottle and The product worked!!
But when I was ready to make my second purchase I noticed how the ratings dropped badly from my first seller (BrazilianKeratin), from 99.9% to 97.5%. Yes he dropped the price to $135 (compare to the $179.00 the bottle is being sold at), then saw a review of someone claiming the product was diluted. (oh oh)...gave me a weird feeling about this...I hope greed did not take over. He is selling plenty of sample bottles, hope he is not taking a couple of ounces from the big bottles to sell them in sample size and replacing that liquid in the big bottles with water to sell them also. Makes me think now why it spilled when I ordered from him.
Greed make people do crazy things(he has been selling these bottles like hot cakes, you know?)

So I went to a Top Seller with great reviews keratintoday...my bottle was factory sealed. NOTHING leaked from the bottle. On my first order with that other seller a bit spilled in the box (huummm), this time NOTHING spilled.

I also received from this seller (KeratinToday) a letter of official distributors.

The shipping was fast!

Having making a purchase from BOTH sellers I will have to agree with HairGuru...BrazilianKeratin's QOD was more watery. Now I suspect why!

But so far my hair can't tell the difference. Maybe water does not change the effects? ( I hope is water what it's use to dilute) Lets see if this application last a lot longer also. I will keep you posted.

My hair seemed to take just fine with the braziliankeratin's "QOD Max" as well, but I don't think his is just watered down. I think it's simply a different keratin treatment. Not only was it more watery, but the smell and color was completely different than Keratin4u's "QOD Max."
I also just bought the 1 liter from Braziliankeratin on ebay. There wasn't a whole lot of communication and I just got it. But now I'm affraid to use it. I guess my lesson learned trying to get away with a cheaper price. I too saw his feedback had went down but it seemed to be only on the sample sizes. I'll let yall know if it turns out ok or not

(I was happy no matter what with the results of my first application) So just cant tell if the first applications were supposed to be 10 time better than how it was. Plus the treatment has cumulative effects..The more I make the treatment the better my overall hair looks.
Next time, order from the other seller and make a comparison, that way you know what works for you the best.
