Hello, I am also hispanic and have combo 3b/3c hair (mostly 3c though lol), and I HAVE had the Brazilian Keratin treatment done (3 times already lol), though I don't think it was the Ma Evans brand. In any case, it does not damage your hair, the opposite is actually true; it strengthens your hair. Since I LOVE my hair naturally curly, but want to grow it out (it's currently about mid back; i'm aiming for waist length), I only got the Keratin treatment done as a means of making care easier during the grow period. I can say that it doesn't hurt; the fumes will likely make your eyes hurt during the application and 20 minute wait period before blowing it out, and your head may itch, but no burning like how relaxers do. BUT, if you use the keratin shampoos and conditioners afterwards, it'll last between 3 and 6 months (for me usually about 4), not a week. For me, from start to finish, the whole thing took about 3 hours, which I didn't like, but it's a good product, it get's rid of all of the frizz, doesn't damage the hair, and graduates out in a few months, all of which I like.
