marcia teixeira vs QOD

Hi, I want to get a bkt done for my wedding in 2 weeks but I don't know which brand to get. I had the marcia teixeira brand done 2 years back but my hair frizzed after 4 days (probably due to the rain). It was every expensive so i decided to try other brands like bio-ionic, softliss and organix. The bio-ionic turned out to have perm solution in it and fried my hair, so I had to grow my hair out all over again. The softliss and organix reduced breakage and volume but my hair wasn't soft or straight or healthy looking. I decided to pay the extra money and try a better known brand but before I go back to Marcia I wanted to know about QOD. Which one is better for straightening and softening together? I want my curls more straight than just loosened seeing 6 inches are fried and the other 6 is 3c, very coarse, very thick virgin hair.

Ok, so I tried the QOD. The sealing process was alot faster and easier than the other brands. A little bit fumey but not too much. My hair is very straight but not soft. I will see what happens when I wash it but so for marcia teixeira is proving to be the better brand.

I LOVE QOD Max!! This is the only brand I like. I get great results, and last longer than my girlfriends' who use various other brands. Hair might feel coated, or hard during the 3 day waiting stage. But after you wash the hair it becomes soooo shiny and soft. LOVE it!

Or should i do it again seeing the more you do it the better it is. I have 4 more days before leaving the country so i will do it again tonight and see what happens.
also my hair is extremely coarse, extremely dry and resistant, more like stuborn 3c/4a hair. Even relaxers had a hard time taming it before I went natural
You can do the treatment again if you would like. Sometimes the second time is the charm for some people, due to the cumulative effects, and also due to the hair texture.

Make sure your hair is fully covered by the treatment, and that the flat. Iron is set on 450. Run it on each section 5-7 times. You want that treatment to melt and seal the hair.

Yes, some people apply it on wet hair, but I wouldn't recommend it for your first couple of treatments. I do it randomly to refresh my BKT. When I want to do a heavy duty treatment I do it as instructed. Over dry clean hair.
Enjoy!
Ok I did it over and I notice an immediate difference from the first section. Very soft and smooth. Even the ends are straight( which never happens). So I guess second time is a charm!

I actually prefer Marcia T chocolate , and you can get a 4 ounce bottle for 60 bucks from beautymart dot com. Marcia T chocolate lasted longer than QOD gold and/or max for me and made my hair softer and shinier. Right now I'm still wearingmy extensions I got fo rmy wedding last week, but when I take them out next month, I will for sure be getting a new 4 ounce bottle of Marcia T chocolate.
@hairguru17 congratulations on your marriage!
3c/4a
Congrats on ur marriage. I guess I can jus play with them both to see who's best but right now the results look almost the same.

Btw I jus found this saying brazilian blowout has in 8% formaldahyde vs 1 % which is the legal amount...that would be pretty messed up especially seeing thry claim to be formaldahyde free

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum as well as BKT. I haven't tried it as yet but I'm VERY curious to try it.
I have type 4c ( I really want to classyfy it as 4d) hair and want to just loosen my curl but with the option to revert to my original curl when I choose to. I want that if I choose NOT to apply another treatment, that my hair will revert to it's original curl 4c (4d).
I've been reading tons of blogs and noted all the pros and cons of applying the BKT or BB etc. I've read about those who were scared to try, those who tried it for the first time, and those who uses it over and over again. However, I haven't read anything about anyone who STOPPED the treatment and their hair reverted to its original state.
Have any of you tried this before? Or have experience the reversion? I know that the product is suppose to be temporary, but I want to be sure before I apply it to my hair.
I've been growing my hair natural for 4 yrs now and don't want to start all over again.
Please let me know if any of you have experience total reversion.
HI CuriousShell!
My daughter had experienced total reversion of teh treatment. Over the past year I did her hair a couple of times, but once summer started we decided not to reapply the treatment because of her busy summer. Beach, Pool, etc... Her hair is now exactly as it was before the treatment.
