I had very beautiful 4a hair and the keratin treatment or escova where im from ruined my hair and i just want to get it back. Can anyone give me some tips to help my hair?
Ruined it how? I'm not familiar with that particular product so I don't know if I can speak on it accurately.
Typically, if you've only done BKT once, it *should* just revert after several washings. It all depends on the texture of your hair and how much it was damaged by the flat-iron stage of the application. You can wash the keratin all out, but if the hair is "heat trained" by the flat iron, the curl will never revert back to its original pattern.
The myth is that all BKT's effect is temporary on all hair. Not true. The coarser and/or less damaged your hair, the more readily it reverts back to its original state if left alone. Fine hair and damaged hair have less natural keratin on the hair shaft and are more easily "heat trained," which is another word for "damaged," by the process, and the curl is less likely to revert to its original state. The more often you have the BKT applied on the same hair, the more permanent the results.
Try using shampoos and conditioners that list sodium chloride as an ingredient--many do. Sodium chloride--table salt--is kryptonite to the BKT. Heck, try soaking or repeatedly rinsing your hair with a solution of salt water. I don't how much that will do to bring back your curls, but it will may dissolve the keratin solution.
Hope some of this helps.
