Amino-fusion?

I'm wondering if any of you have experience with amino-fusion systems? They seem a bit less harsh and less problematic than Brazilian blowouts.

I've been using the Deva Curl system for several months, but summer is almost upon us here in Washington, D.C., and it seems that Deva is no match for the humidity here. I'm tired of my hair looking awful four months out of the year, so I'm considering my options.

I'm a bit freaked out by keratin treatments, but these amino systems claim to be a bit more gentle, although that could be total rubbish. I'd also like to get bangs, a style that isn't at all possible with my current texture. I don't want to pay 300+ for this luxury however, but I see an upcoming Bloomspot deal for this, so I though I'd do my research now. Any feedback you could provide regarding experiences with this would be appreciated!

I had the Amino Fusion by Thermofuse done about 3 weeks ago and I am very pleased with the results. I had it done a couple of days before vacation to Florida and with the humidity down there, I was relieved that my hair stayed calm and didn't frizz up like it normally would have. I wear it naturally most of the time, and the frizz is definitely less but there is still a curl. If I want to blow dry and/or straighten with a flat iron, is quicker and easier. The only draw backs was that it made my hair, which had a reddish tint from my last color, lighter and took out the red...not a bad thing, just something to consider. Also, it has a distinct smell...just a little odd. I did get the shampoo and conditioner to go with it, to hopefully keep the treatment going longer. I also waited for a Living Social 1/2 off, coz I didn't want to pay $250 for the treatment. That's very pricey. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your response. I went ahead and got the treatment last night. I have a ton of hair, so it took forever and cost an arm and a leg. However, when I left the salon it was about to rain and was totally muggy and gross, and my hair didn't seem to mind at all. I was advised to not wash it until tomorrow, and today it's a bit straight for my liking, but I expect it to wave up a bit when I wash it tomorrow.

I'm actually relieved to hear you say it made your hair less red. Mine is color treated and a bit too copper for my tastes, so perhaps this will make it a little ashier.

I'll post again in a couple of weeks to report if it's still something I recommend. I can't believe this stuff isn't more popular seeing as how it does what keratin does, but with zero health or environmental risks. Maybe it just needs a better marketing department.

So, it's been a little over a month, and I thought I'd provide an update on my experience with this system.

The first three weeks or so were GREAT. My hair was smooth, manageable and frizz-free. The last few weeks? Not as great. I don't know if it's because I've been running low on conditioner and thus not using as much, or if this stuff wears off too fast, or if it's simply not match for D.C. humidity, but it doesn't look so hot anymore.

My hair feels dry and a little damaged. I'm not loving the Amino Fusion quite as much, and really it's just reinforcing the reality that there's no good way of changing your hair texture. Recommended if you can get it cheaply, but at $350 a pop where I live, this seems like a bit of a rip-off.
