I looked up each ingredient in QOD Max Organiq and compared it to the Gold, and as it turns out, the ingredient DMDM Hydantoin in the Gold formula is a formaldehyde releaser.

The maximum use level of DMDM Hydantoin in Europe in cosmetic products is: 0.2%, as anything below this is deemed perfectly safe in all cosmetics. QOD Gold has 0.0002% which is well below the European Safety Maximum.
Products such as Curel, DDF Organic, Huggies, Bumble & Bumble, Olay, Desert Essence, Eucerin, Irish Spring, Ivory, Dove all have similar levels of DMDM Hydantoin.
I'm a Bio Chemist that uses QOD Gold at least twice a year and did my honework before choosing this product and really love it.
