At home keratin, not actually straightening?

Hi all!
I just bought the organix keratin treatment and was planning on using it next week after more research. It says to completely straighten your hair after putting the product on. What would happen if I just left it in and didn't straighten it, maybe just put it in a braid? I don't want straight hair just less curly and frizzy. My hair is a 3c, I want a 2b.
Thank you all!

I think you need heat for the product to work.

In this video the poster curls her hair with a flat iron.
