QOD Max Silver !

Thanks to Napp, I found out that QOD released another keratin treatment. I was looking for a way to eliminate color fading after every BKT.

http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v2/134...VER_1000ML.jpg

In their official site they claim it's a product that gives straight, frizz free results etc.
I also contacted their sales support department and they assured me that It's even better than the original formula of QOD Max.

But I doubt it is like the original treatment I adored.
First of all it is supposed to be another product of Organiq line but from what I have read, Organiq is far away from giving similar resualts as the original formula.
And secondly, instructions of SILVER say to apply product, then rinse and blow dry and as final step flat iron at 230 C
How can a product that is rinsed before it is flat ironed on the hair shaft, work like a straightener??

Has anyone used it? what are your thoughts about it?

Napp 12-17-2012 01:53 PM

you know i have been doing some reasearch on the newest keratin treatments that are coming out and i am noticing this trend as well! I call them "low heat keratin options." in fact i was about to blog about a similar product quite soon! I am trying to look for what in the ingredients causes this effect and if it really is temporary or not.i might even have to do some investigatinghttp://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag.../detective.gif

Bruchilda, I came across a review of the silver formula a long time ago. I will search for it, and post for you. Not sure if it was here on the forum or a blog. I will search in a bit and post it for you. The reviewer said it did not worked as the "original" and did not lasted as much, but did not altered her color. That is why I never purchased the silver (and I was so determined to try it!)

NApp I really doubt if it has any kind of straight effect on curly hair...just like organiq:tongue10:

Hey Aphro!
Are u sure that review was about Qod max Silver? I m saying that because it's a very new product, I think they released it on september-october

Maybe it was other product of silver line. I think they have several treatments under that label (not keratin, more like hair masks and conditioners)

Bruchilda 12-19-2012 07:16 AM

I d really appreciate it if the memeber Keratin4u could bring some light here :P

I actually also contacted keratin4u official site several days ago but I still got no reply :protest:

AphroDiva 12-19-2012 03:10 PM

Yes Bruchilda, it was back for when they were selling the ORIGINAL QOD Max. They had the strawberry, and they had the Silver, that was recommended for blonde hair. Because some ladies would say that the QOD Max would alter their blonde hair color. So they came out with the Silver. I a am still looking for that review.
:coffee2:

I had a better response from emailing them. I always got a response within 24 hours.

hi ladies
I just happened to see the post now. QOD MAX SILVER so far we have been getting great results. I will never say that it will straighten because like any keratin treatment it's not a straightner but you will have a straight effect and better than the MAX OrganiQ. For faster reply always feel free to email me at keratin4u@gmail.com or call our office at 1-800-731-1830

Bruchilda 12-20-2012 11:39 PM

What does "great results" mean??
Neither Qod max original nor Kerapremium blue label were straightners but they give(gave) straight results. My hair is 2c-3a and comes out straight after every bkt.
So maybe it's better than Qod organiq but I guess it's not even comparable to your old formula....right?

keratin4u 12-21-2012 01:13 PM

So far the hair salons that used the OrganiQ formulas are changing to MAX Silver. Max Silver is not a wash a go( straight) like many treatments but it does reduce the volume A LOT. I have highlights and wave hair, my hair I call it Lion King when I did not have keratin. I stop using the original formulas long time ago. I only used OrganiQ and had good results and now with Silver I am in love. When I wash my hair and dont feel like blow drying, I just towel dry, apply a bit of argan oil and that's it. The hair will have a nice natural volume and very shinny. When I want my hair with a bit less volume , I just dry for about 5 minutes just combing and the hair is almost chinese straight. If I want to wear my hair completly straight I let it air dry and after that I flat iron and my hair will not frizz att all after any of those steps. I live in Miami and it it very humid but with the treatment my hair stays nice no matter what. I usually dont like to blow dry and flat iron because that is too much heat for the hair, but in case of a hurry , I blow dry and as I flat iron each section I blow dry cool air to cool down the hair.

Any questions let me know keratin4u@gmail.com

Bruchilda 12-22-2012 07:20 AM

Thanks for sharing your useful infos keratin4u!

Well I still doubt if it does what it says. And I don't understand why to flat iron at such a high temp. (230 C). Product is rinsed out, so you flat iron directly the hair with no treatment protection ! Seems horrifying...What's the point?
And why anyway you have to rinse out the product and not flat iron it on hair?

I think I ll go for kerpremium too

keratin4u 12-22-2012 01:21 PM

Hi
I use the flat iron no more than 400F. The treatment works wuth abalanced PH level and also a mixed of cisteyne, proteins and keratin. The pause time is
what determines a how loose the curls will be.

Bruchilda 12-23-2012 01:55 AM

Interesting..
I think it'd be very helpful if you could upload a video to see instructions and mostly to see results after the fisrt wash :toothy4:
thanks anyway

I d still prefer to read some reviews from other culries who've used it!

jessy.bill.5 01-22-2013 08:05 AM

Excited to try

Hi ladies, I was also thinking about purchasing this product and I have done my research. As far as I understand this product is for blonde hair, it will eliminate brassiness and won't change your hair color during the straightening process. I found it on amazon and also at Fashion and Beauty Store. My hairdresser said I could use it on my dark brown hair as well and it won't change the color. I will keep you posted! :love2:

Bruchilda 01-24-2013 11:38 AM

Hey girl!
finally someone that's going with this product
Can you tell us more about your hair?
thickness, texture etc?

Tell us about your results when you ll use it!

QOD MAX Silver

Hi ladies
it has been a while since I logged in to see if anyone had questions. My business was burglarized on December 23 and they took everything we had in our warehouse. Ever since that happened I have been with my mind so occupied, but I am back.
The good news is that QOD MAX Silver has been a great sucess. Many hairdresser that used our competitors have switched to MAX Silver. If anyone has any questions, send us an email keratin4u@gmail.com or visit our website www.qodamerica.com .

OMG, Claudia, I'm so sorry to hear that. Maybe I should reconsider the Kerapremium and look into the Silver first.

If anyone is interested, I'm looking for someone to split a 33 oz bottle and cost of whatever I decide on. Please let me know if you're interested--I can't use a full bottle. Took me 3 years to go through my bottle of Gold, and that was when I was initially doing full-head applications.

ETA: Oops, I see it has argan oil...my hair haaaaates oil, even the coveted argan, so, no, won't be buying Silver.

AphroDiva 02-07-2013 11:35 AM

So sorry to hear that!!

What a great idea!! If only you were in the San Francisco area. I find still that a great many people don't know about the wonders of Brazilian Keratin.
