I have been so busy making it almost impossible to visit the site!
I was wondering if you have found a brand that can compare to our beloved QOD Max ORIGINAL?
Kerapremium was a waste of money and time (unless I got a "bad batch" ) how dare they sold it as the renamed Original QOD Max? No gloss, no wash and go, pure crap. I even gave some to two coworkers who insisted to try it, and it lasted only one shampoo, and no wash and go or glossy/shiny hair. In less than 2 weeks it was like if They did nothing to their hair. I did my friends who wanted to try, just to see if it was only me who had these results, and I was happy to find out it was not just me having such high expectations. But upset that I fell for the sale pitch and wasted $250+ on a useless product.
I was embarrassed to even give it away to my friends but they insisted to try it.
The $20 ION keratin treatment from Sally's gives me a lot more gloss than the KeraPremium!!! But does not soften my curly roots as the ORiGiNal QOD max would. I would use it to "refresh" my treated hair for now.

I am still looking for that brand that will give me the softness, mega shine, and wash n' go effect...anyone?

Where did you buy your KP?

Keratin4U sent me a KP sample, and it worked fine on my hair! I just placed an order for a bottle, in fact. I noticed no appreciable difference between KP and my beloved original Gold.
OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!

Hi Honeycurls! Thank you for replying so fast. I got it on EBay from Keratin4U as well. I guess I got a bad one then. This was nothing like QOD max for me I am afraid to reorder again.
I think you should request a sample from Claudia. I know she's a good person, and she assures me that it's the same formula--though it is possible that the parent company is being deceptive about the formula. I was skeptical and hesitant to buy, so she sent me a sample. If that sample hadn't worked, I wouldn't have bought a bottle. I got two successful root touch-ups out of that sample.

What I have noticed is that my hair seems to go through hormonal cycles. And, when it's cycling or whatever, nothing works; it looks dull, limp, frizzy, thin. This can last for hours, days, weeks, months--doesn't even matter what the weather or humidity is. Then, as suddenly as it happened, it goes away, and my hair is full, thick, shiny, bouncy, with no frizz. I'm on this hair rollercoaster all the time, and as I get older, it seems that I have more dull/frizzy/limpy days than not. I'm in a dull/limpy cycle right now. But, then, I haven't BKT'd in nearly 3 months, and I have about an inch worth of nappy roots--no bueno. A harsh reminder of what life was like before QOD.

I think you should give it another try with a new sample. I hope it works for you, because I'd be lost without my QOD, and I can't imagine having to find a comparable brand.

Good luck, Gorgeous!

Hey Aphrodiva!
I was so skeptical 1 month ago about what brand to purchase...My Qod max bottle is almost empty.

I went with Inoar Moroccan and I am very happy! It was the first treatment I ever tried (in a hairsalon)
I think it s even better than your beloved Qod max
Plus you dont need to wait 48 hours before washing. It requires just one hour period post-treatment.
It s also available in small bottles if you dont want to spent 150$ at once

I think it s a very safe choice If you dont want to experiment with various brands

Why do you think it's better than QOD--what differences did you find?

I'm going to try to get a sample.

well, my natural hair is curly 2c-3a and I allways opt for wash-and-go straight to lightly wavy hair.
That s the result I ve always had with QOD original for at least 3-4 weaks. After that period I either use a little bit of styling product or pass a straightening iron on a few strands...

I think Inoar and QOD (original) are very similar in terms of straightening and luster. I m not sure when it comes to softness.. I think Qod was a little bit superior but, again, the difference is so slight that it's propably because of other factors, not the treatment itself

It s better because you can wash it 1 hour post-treatment and I concider this a big advantage. Plus it's slightly better at frizz reduction.

I bought it from an e bay brazilian seller at an extremely good price and free EU shipping! So I saved a lot of money and got keratin for at least 2,5 years, hehe
Woot Woot! I love buying big bottles, saving big $$, and having a supply that lasts for years, but, is there an expiration date on your bottle? My QOD Gold original expired Feb 2012, but I kept using it until it ran out a couple of months ago. Seemed to work fine.

I contacted Inoar for a sample but was told that they only sell to licensed stylists. She suggested that the Argan Oil formula was better for me since I want to maintain some curls because the others would remove most of the curl.

Not having to wait 24-48 hours would be a HUGE advantage because I loathe having to wear my hair straight even for 1 day!

Can you PM me the name of your eBay seller? I'd really appreciate it...although my bottle of Kerapremium did arrive today, and I absolutely MUST use it because these 3c/4a roots are NOT the biz with the rest of my 2a/2b hair.

Yes it expires at 03/2015. I sent an e mail to the seller and said that the keratin is intended for personal use, so she shipped a bottle with the longest possible exp.date!

My Qod expired last summer, as well, but it still works great.

Keep in mind that Inoar moroccan does contain f/hyde, just like QOD original. I guess that if you want similar results the other INOAR treatments are not so suitable IMHO
But you know better your hair. Mine responds exactly the same way to both treatmens

Check your PMs for the seller!

I m really not sure if you ll find what you want but I really loved the immediate wash you can have with inoar.... I think I ll never go back to progressive brushes that require a post-treatment period even if that means a little bit inferior results
