Keratin Complex by Coppola Before and After, type 3b

Just had the Keratin Complex by Coppola done. I have very fine hair. It's a type 3b, I think. It's very dry and not wavy or curly when naturally dried. I have to dry it with a brush in order to get nice smooth curls or waves. When I had it blown out straight, it would never really be a nice straight, and would get frizzy soon after. I was sick of having to put it up in a pony tail when I had no time to do it. So I had this treatment done. Supposedly, I will be able to wear it natural and have nice waves, which is the look I am going for. I do not want it pin straight.

The process was $240, with a 20% coupon. Had it done in NJ. It took just under 3 hours. It didn't smell or make me chokey or burn my eyes. It is very flat and pin straight but it won't look like this once I wash it, I'm told. I get to wash it tmrow.

I wanted to share my before and after pics. The first are when naturally dried. And the others are right after the treatment. It needs to be cut, but you can see the difference in the texture.

Overall, I'm really happy with the results already. It is so greasy and nasty right now with the product in, but I think it will be nice when I wash it.

I never wear it straight anymore. Hard for me to blow dry straight. Haven't colored or used irons in a VERY long time. Damaged hair. I use Chi serum, which works great. Wish I could have long waves but my hair won't grow.

PLEASE post pics of your hair after you wash it (preferably before you blow it straight if you do) I have thicker 3b/c hair and am going back and forth between getting this treatment or just trying to cut my hair to thin out the bulk/even it out. I'm really interested to see how the hair will look when its curly/wavy!!

Frustrated none the less... Keratin process set for 12/20 unless something changes before then.

Ok, sure! I get to wash it tmrow, thankfully. It feels so greasey. I have been hiding out all day at work. My plan is to let it dry naturally tomorrow.

So, I am on my 2nd day after the washing and I'm fairly happy with the results. I am completely happy about it not being frizzy anymore. It is soooo silky and healthy looking. I can't even believe this is my hair! I had to get it cut today because it wasn't cut to be worn straight before, and it also had no body, being long. I got it cut shoulder length with layers for more body. My face is longer, so I don't look good with totally flat, long hair. I totally recommend this treatment for antifrizz. I have no frizz at all. When I air dried, it had some wave but fairly straight. It feels so light and healthy.

I do miss some of the curl I had before. The hair dresser said it will come back more in a week, or so. I tried to use the curling iron before to get some ringlet curls and it didn't hold too well. I think I will need some setting spray to get some curl.

I have to say , though, that I would rather work now at getting curls a bit, than work as hard as I was at fighting frizz. I'd rather start off with nice, silky hair and then try to put some curls into it, than starting off with a big frizz mess.

I'll post some pics soon.

I had it done at the Edge Salon in Landing, NJ.

You have made up my mind. I just had my hair "devacut" (whatever) today and it looks awful. Its even curlier and uglier than before, so I'm done. I scheduled the consult for the treatment as soon as I walked out of the salon.

Skram1113- I think your hair looks awesome curly! It doesn't look frizzy at all. Looks like you have thick hair, so must be tough to manage the frizz. I think you'll be happy with the results of the keratin. My hair was like straw and the curls weren't defined at all before. It didn't take me too long to do my hair nice, but thing is, I am usually rushing from the gym to work and don't even have the extra 15 min to do my hair. If I let it air dry then forget about it.. had a total frizz all day. So, I'm happy now that it is wearable when I air dry it, even if it is somewhat flat air dried. Better than frizz. Post something after you have it done. I'll try to post pics of how mine looks now today or tmrow. Thanks

Hi, here are some pics of my hair after the keratin washing, after I blow dried it slightly and spent about 5 min. on it. The 2nd to last is it naturally dried BEFORE keratin. Not great pics but gives you an idea. I'll try to get better ones. I plan to use the curling iron to get a few curls.

Great pictures! before and after.

I have heard that the keratin treatment is a coating that lasts up to 3 months and washes out a bit with every time you wet your hair (so, to shampoo and or to condition).

I am wondering if your stylist mentioned any particular products speeding up the process of the keratin wearing off? or is it simply water that dilutes it?

Your hair looks great! I love how soft the BKT makes my hair!
Thanks I can't believe how nice it feels! I have worn it air dried for a few days and it looks so healthy and has no frizz! If this lasts more than 3 months, I will be happy and I would definitely do it again! It is sooo worth the $$. Even after I worked out and my hair got wet and sweaty after running, it air dried in the gym and it still looked nice. The stylist just said not to use shampoo with sulfates. I use Pureology, which is expensive. I will try another cheaper brand without sulfates.

Oh wow.... Your before hair is a bit similar to mine except I'm a bit closer to 3c but wow seeing that gives me some hope that my hair will look decent soon!
I got this done recently and am so so so happy that I did. It changed my LIFE --- I love my hair now. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION THAT I HAVE EVER MADE. My hair is everything that I always wanted it to be.....

Say what you mean and mean what you say.
I got a keratin smoothing treatment at Annza with amazing results. My hair is naturally kinky and very starved for moisture. Annza's stylists are very talented and they did an excellent job at taming my wild locks! My hair is now silky and straight- probably the healthiest it's ever been.
