I don't have the ingredients for the Selsun Blue, but most likely it contains one of the stronger sulfates--that's why your hair would feel stripped and react by being frizzy. The white residue sounds like some kind of build up, or a reaction (to produce more oil to make up for what's being stripped.)
I rarely use shampoo. When I do, I use the Donna Marie one. Cleansers It's very gentle and doesn't leave any residue.
My salon carries the Deva products and I used to let them use the NoPoo before they changed the ingredients about 18 months ago. I find it very drying. I bring CJ Daily Fix when I go for my haircut/highlight. It's a cleansing conditioner that has Cocamidopropyl Betaine, a gentle sulfactant, and Tetrasodium EDTA, a chelating agent.
If you use products and your hair/scalp become greasy so quickly, I'd suggest that you try other products.
