Deep Cond rec
I posted this to protein sensitive board as well, but this forum gets more traffic and it seems there are a few on here like me who are protein sensitive and low porosity.
I am currently using GVP Cond balm and it works alright but I feel my hair doesn't absorb it and I feel I want something with a little slip. I hate AOHSR. It feels like it just sets on top of my hair. I love products I can find on the ground and use as a base to add some of my beloved oils like grape seed and avocado, and essential oils.

I'm low porosity and protein sensitive too. I like Tresemme naturals for my rinse out. Nice slip. For deeper conditioning I like curl junkie curl rehab. I also just started using garnier Fructis sleek and like it so far just not crazy about the smell. They're all protein fee.

Very interesting that you mention garner fructis sleek and shine. I have a bottle in my cabinet, bought it to use on my girl's hair and really like it. I remembered how much I love the slip and was just preparing to research if it was protein free. Thank you so much. I always forget how much I love the slip from tresseme naturals!

I'm glad you posted this. I'm not liking the tresemme naturals anymore. I think I'm reacting to the aloe. The radiant volume one seems to be ok. I'm looking for a more moisturizing conditioner and may have to try this. I thought Giovanni products were loaded with proteins and always stayed away for that reason.

Most Giovanni products do have tons of protein in them. The Giovanni 50:50 is one of the few that don't though.
Did you know that Tressame Natural conditioner has isopropyl alcohol in it? For this reason it dries my hair out horribly which is why I can't use it. Even in minute amounts, isopropyl alcohol is my hair's enemy. Your hair could be reacting to the alcohol as well. Just a thought...

Wow, thanks for the tips. I never quite know which are the bad alcohols but you are absolutely right. It might not be the aloe at all.
I can totally relate to the protein sensitivity you described upthread. I think my hair likes protein every now and then but if I don't get good moisture in my hair, protein starts to build up and I get straw. I'll try the Giovanni and see if if helps. Thanks.

You could add oils to your conditioner to make them more conditioning. I'm also looking for cheap CG deep conditioners as my rinse out, but I'm not sure where to get them. The only stores we have nearby is Safeway, Trader Joe's, Walgreens, Target, CVS, Sally's (from nearest to farthest). And some of them are still pretty far. Any cheap (<$12 please) moisturizing deep conditioner recommendations? I'm also looking for a cheap CG protein conditioner. Thanks.
