Low porosity, 3a, very thick and long hair styling
Hello, so since starting on my CG journey one week and a half ago I am trying to find what works best for my hair. My hair is looking way better, but I am noticing that the fact that my hair is low porosity truly is a big factor in moisturizing. I have a lot I mean a lot of hair and when it is wet it looks like I almost got every strand of curls with conditioner and gel but 4 hours later when it dries not all the curls look moistured or defined. I'm currently co washing with Giovanni triple threat, conditioning with Giovanni deep moisture, using kinky curly not today, and l.a looks sports gel. Anyone else have this type of hair and have styling techniques? Thanks. Also does anyone know how to post a picture on here from the iPad?

Four hours isn't all that long. Especially, if you have a lot of hair with product. My hair is no longer dense (age, thyroid and medication.) Even with scrunching out water with curl towels and diffusing, it takes four hours to completely dry!
I'd say that the products you're using aren't moisturizing enough for your hair. You may want to look and see what other people are using. There may be a thread on the low porosity forum that addresses this.

That Giovanni conditioner does have a cone in it. Maybe it is drying to your hair?

What is the cone in Giovanni Smooth As Silk conditioner? I've read a couple of times that it has one but can't find it in the ingredients listed online or on my bottle.
Aqua (water), cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, butylene glycol, cetrimonium bromide, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, natural fragrance, hydrolyzed soy protein, *chamomilla recutita (matricaria) leaf extract, *citrus aurantium dulcis (valencia orange) extract, *citrus grandis (grapefruit) fruit extract, *cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass) extract, *echinacea purpurea extract, *ginkgo biloba extract, *glycine soja (soybean) seed extract, *lavandula angustifolia (lavender) extract, *rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, *macrocystis pyrifera (sea kelp) extract, *mangifera indica (mango) extract, *salix alba (willow bark).

The Smooth as Silk Conditioner is fine. It's the Smooth as Silk shampoo that has amodimethicone.

Thank you. I've seen it stated in a few threads that the conditioner has a cone and I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Well, I checked my little sample bottle of SAS several times recently, because I kept seeing it mentioned here, and sure enough, it said dimethicone. But now I can't find the bottle- I think I threw it away.
But if you have a newish bottle in front of you with the ingredients, then your obviously right. And I might be going crazy......
