LP = forever to dry?
Is it the case that low porosity hair takes forever to dry? This has been true for me my whole life, but I always thought it was just because I have so much hair, but I see girls on hair with hair just as thick that dries in like an hour!
I diffused my hair for about 5-7 minutes this morning after t-shirt blotting around 6:30 am, and at 10:30 am my hair had just barely dried enoug to SOTC, and even then it was pushing it. My hair actually hates the diffuser when t comes to frizziness, so I prefer to air dry, but sometimes I am not dry until lunch time and it makes me a little crazy to not touch my hair for that long!
Anyone have any non-heat drying tips or tricks? I can't wash the night before because that both leaves me with still damp hair and hair that bends in funny directions (even wet pineappled or plopped), so I just have to rewet and then I'm back where I started!

I use the hooded dryer on a pole. My hair frizzes awful when I defuse, too much moving around and my hair takes forever to dry also. So I use the Hooded dryer in the winter and fall and air dry in Summer.

My hair also hates the diffuser. If I leave the house right away I put the heater on in my car even living in Florida and that helps a lot and leaves no frizz. Problem is it gets hot in the car so there is only so much I can take.

Try using curl towels (Curlease or CLU) or and old cotton t-shirt to scrunch out some of the water before you diffuse. It helps with curl formation and drying time. With LP hair, it's still a few hours, but it's less then it would be without the towels.

It literally takes my hair a day and a half to dry. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to decrease drying time while maintaining moisture.

My Hooded Dryer
Conair Professional - Babyliss - BaByliss Pro Thermal Ionic Rollabout Dryer
I got my hooded dryer from Sally's. I've attached the link. It was well worth the money. I love it!

I never thought about my hair being lp! It takes my hair about 3-4 hours to air dry. If the weather is more humid it literally takes all day! I can't shower in the morning because my hair takes so long and it frizzes even worse when I diffuse. I have to shower in like early to mid afternoon so my hair is dry enough to pineapple when I go to bed.

I also use a Sally's hooded dryer. Usually I wash at night and sit under the dryer for 20 minutes at least to get the process started then go to bed. If I don't my hair won't be dry in the morning. If I wash in the morning and air dry my hair will be wet all day and I'm paranoid about leaning my head against something or someone hugging me and getting grossed out from wet hair.
