Overmoisturized Versus Build Up

Is there a difference?

How do you tell the difference?

How do I know if my hair is overmoisturized?

How do I know if my hair has build up?

What should I do if my hair is overmoisturized?

Overconditioned hair will generally be very soft but lifeless and limp. Curls will be waves, waves will be almost straight.

I fix overconditioned hair with a protein treatment (I use aloe, it's the only thing my hair tolerates).

Buildup is often described as feeling dirty, greasy, waxy, flaky, stiff.

For me there isn't a difference, over-conditioned and product build-up looks the same in my hair. Wet frizzy hair that is too soft, limp, greasy and hard to style. And I solve it the same way, too - cleanse and use a pt. But like I said, that's just my hair.
