Some tweaked me to the fact that low-po is probably my problem with drying and I'm just feeling there is no CG hope for me. I've been reading and reading through the threads in here and it seems like most of you can just deal with the extremely long dry times and go about life while your curls dry. But I don't have curls that will hang out until my hair is dry unless I don't move until the cast is set. The weight of the water on my length is just too much. This morning I tried hot hot co-washing with hot conditioner, hot LI, hot curl cream, hot FSG, with the hot water running behind me in the shower to keep the cuticle open with ambient heat to absorb, used cloth diapers to scrunch tons of moisture out (I soaked 3!) then I plopped in a tee shirt lined with another diaper. When I took the shirt and diaper off they were soaked and my hair two hours later is still sopping wet. Diffusing does nothing but frizz me up and make my hair stringy. Is there any hope for me? Or do I just need to accept that my hair can't draw out my curl pattern and have a life and long healthy hair? I'm just so incredibly frustrated.

Gosh I was in a bad place earlier. I'm still annoyed but I am drying way faster today so please excuse my emotional mind-dump here :/

I understand your pain. I don't havy any miracle solutions either, but using heat & baggying when possible helps. Baking soda rinses help. Using products with thinner consistencies work better than thick ones. I've even considered dying my hair since some low porosity ladies say it helped.

Have you considered getting a haircut with layers to help bring out your curl pattern? A good haircut can add more volume and remove the problem of your hair being weighed down.

I do understand the frustration of hair that takes a long time to dry. I struggle with that every morning myself.

I have and I am. I don't know if it's worth it to me though :/

It depends on what you want. To be perfectly blunt, if your avatar is an example of a typical day a haircut would be in order. It should give your hair shape, "lighten" up your hair and keep it from pulling out the wave/curl, get rid of the hair that's been around too long, etc.

Yeah I know on the CG front, but I am majorly into styling my hair in a variety of ways (I get a lot of wig comments because I change it so much) so I'm pretty cautious of the idea of ridding myself of any hair except my monthly trim. I'm not really sure at this point that permanent changes to my hair life for CG is worth it for my lifestyle.
