My hair is low AND high porosity?!

So, I've been reading about LCO and LOC the last few days, and REALLY want to try them, so I did the water float test to see whether my hair was low or high porosity, with about 4 different hairs..THEY ALL DID DIFFERENT THINGS. Two floated, one sunk all the way to the bottom, and one sunk about halfway..WHAT?! Are there any other factors I can check to see what hair type I am? I'm trying LCO today, because I thought I ahd low porosity..Guess if that doesn't work I'll try LOC when I wash my hair later this week. Help?
The water test is actually pretty unreliable for determining porosity. From what I've read, the best way is to run your fingers up and down a strand of hair and see what it feels like - if it runs up smoothly and 'squeak's you're low porosity, but if it feels bumpy and rough then you're high.

It may also be that you have both high and low porosity hair in different sections (I'm beginning to think this is the case with me!)

I'm medium and high. High at the very top of my head where the sun hits me, and at my ends where there's leftover color. Everything else is medium. If your hair dries fast without product, you are high. If it dries very slow you are low. Medium is somewhere in the middle.

I tried the LOC method last night and it's amazing!!
