Duct Tape for waxing.. and warts lol

Sorry for the odd thread.
First I want to know- Does duct tape really works for waxing the underarms? I get mine waxed but I would love to do this on my own instead. Would this do any harm?
Secondly, I just wanted to let anyone know that if they have problems with warts not going away, put duct tape over them and leave it on for a week, take it off and rinse the area(dry it) then put a new piece on for another week. Do this until the wart is gone. It really does get rid of it! I had a wart on my foot once and was getting it frozen but the the duct tape just killed the whole thing. I haven't seen a bump since!

I want to try this but am afraid it will rip off my skin. I use Sally Hansen Express wax kit. Microwave for 10-15 seconds. Works quite well and I get to keep my underarm skin

Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
I've heard of putting duct tape on warts to get rid of them but it sounds like it'd be tough on your skin for waxing. I'd buy a waxing kit. Or just get it done professionally.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
Try a roll-on wax! I sometimes use one by Nair to do my legs. I like the sugar wax, any excess that's left on your skin (or that drips onto the floor) washes off easily. It's super easy, and pretty cheap too.

For the wart you use the same strip for a week? Is that hygenic? I don't think I'd use it for waxing though, just get a home kit for like $10 from walgreens. The one I use is Sally Hansen the kind that washes off and don't have to heat. One time they had that out of stock and I bought the microwaveable kind and could not get off the residue for the life of me.

I guess I should stick to getting mine "professionally" done. I have gotten a waxing kit from Sallys but it didn't work. I don't really like kits anyway.. Thanks everyone for your input!

Oh, goodness. There was a girl in my 6th-grade class who would sit at her desk and attempt to wax her legs with duct tape all day. It didn't work for her...and it was really gross and distracting. You know, I probably wouldn't recommend using duct tape on skin, because it's not formulated for skin. The duct tape glue might contain irritants.

I tried duct tape...did not work. I had several warts on my fingers, they were so deep they were misshaping my nails. I used this spray-on freeze dry wart stuff that they sell over-the-counter now. I bought mine at walmart. They got worse before they got better. And my fingers would ache as they came out. HTH

my mom waxes my underarms with the heatable wax they use at salons and i've done that for years.

if you're having probs removing residue, use some vitamin e oil or olive oil (some people use mineral oil too, but the first two are a little more moisturizing), to rub excess off.

what i've used to wax my bikini area before are the nad's strips. box says:
"Nad's 24 hair removal strips). minimal pain, works great, and residue is easy to clean off!
I've actually heard of the duct tape on warts thing. They talked about it on a local morning radio show last year or something! I wondered if it actually worked! I don't know about the waxing with duct tape though, I'd be afraid it would do some real damage. ~~jax
