Default PUR Minerals -- and other mineral makeups too!

So, in my quest to find my skin color so I can order the Everyday Minerals sample kit... I went to Ulta today. I tried Bare Escentuals and PUR Minerals foundations (one on each side of face). I really like how the PUR feels and the natural coverage I got. It's more like a pressed powder but it's minerals.

Has anyone used PUR Minerals? I tried a search but didn't find anything.

I haven't tried that one. I've used BE (face broke out) Now I'm using samples of Everyday Minerals, and just ordered samples of Aubrey Nicole.

I am going to Ulta tomorrow night though, I think I will have to try PUR! thanks for the idea! ~~jax

I ordered my samples of EM and I'm waiting for them to get here.

AN has samples too? Where do I find them?

I ordered them off of the website. www.aubreynicole.com You can pick two foundations and right now a thrid for $.99. Apparently they are now on their way to my house. I found the EM is a little to dry for my skin, though I still like it better than BE. ~~jax

Thanks jaxie! I'll wait until you get yours and LMK how you like them. Then you can help me choose colors!

I am in LOVE with the Aubey Nicole makeup. I don't look like I'm even wearing makeup, I look like I have great skin! Also, I've been using it for 2 days and so far no break outs! My vote is definitely for this makeup! ~~jax

Ooh, sounds nice! I just got my EM so I'm going to try it a while first. Then maybe I'll try the other line after the holidays.

okay, I may need to rethink my opinion of aubrey nicole. I have more zits now than I have had in a month. And it only started after using aubrey nicole. I think that I may go back to EM and see if it clears up, then I'll know if it was AN that caused the breakout! sooo disappointed b/c it looked so good on! ~~jax

I have used Pur and liked them and I'm currently using EM which I like just as well. The only reason I switched was because I found a color I liked better from EM. I HATED bare essentials! HORRIBLE stuff!

I'm glad you like the EM, its the best makeup I've tried. I just need to find a more moisturizing moisturizer, b/c I've been getting flaky skin. But I don't know if thats the make up or the dry air.~~jax

My face is real dry in the winter and even with my moisturizer going on heavy it still was flaking in areas after i put my mineral make up on. So what i just discovered was if i mix some of my minerals in my moisturizer and put it on my face hasnt been dry. How did I come across this.. I was running low and said let me mix some in my moisturizer to stretch it out and it gave me nice coverage. I have also been to lazy to order or buy more

I still need to buy some more. I may try EM or Aubrey Nicole's since i have money to burn. I had BE but its pricey. Then i got sheer cover which i didnt like. Yikes. Anyway HTH

Thanks for the tip. Did you mix the mineral makeup and moisturizer in your hands?
And between Aubrey Nicole and Everyday Minerals, I'd try EM first if you break out easily, b/c AN made me get horrible cystic acne that my face still is recovering from! ~~jax

yup, i put the moisturizer on the top of my hand (running low on that to) and then shake'd some minerals on top and mixed it. depending on how full of coverage you want you can add more mineral to the moisturizer. oh and i only used a nickel size of moisturizer cause i figured i could always mix some more if it wasnt enough.

i will check EM out. thanks

Ack! I already have the cyctic acne (going to a dermo next week) so I'll stick with the EM for now. Thanks for the heads-up.

I don't have any dryness at all with the EM. I have somewhat oily skin and I still get some oily breakthrough. I've tried the Intensive and Semi-matte formulas so far. I might try the Matte next.

Which formula do you prefer for oilier skin?

ETA: I edited the title to include all brands.

Since I have less dry skin with the semi-matte, I would say either the matte or intensive. BUT my dry skin seems to be fading, so it may have just been my skin at that time. I LOVE the intesive formula it works wonders to cover up that cystic acne that is finally (almost) gone, and it covers up the 2 cirlces I have on the side of my chin from chicken pox!

Wow. What a great idea. So, if I mixed mineral makeup with my sunscreen, I could have a tinted sunscreen that behaved like light makeup?
