Default Rouquinne, Redcatwaves, and all Makeup and Skin experts...

Hi, what are your opinions about facial hair trimmers/epilators? More specifically, what do you guys think about removing all facial hair? Is it bad for skin? If yes, why? The reason I ask is that about 2 months ago, I bought one of those cheapo facial hair trimmers to remove hair on my face because I had heard on one those shopping channels that makeup goes on smoother when you don't have facial hair. Well, about a month later I got the weirdest form of irritation acne ever. It has subsided for the most part but I stil have some of it under my chin and jaw and it feels like braile acne. So guys, need your input. Thanks.

are you trying to remove something embarrassing, like excess hair on your face due to a hormonal condition like PCOS???

or are you just trying to eliminate normal cilia?

if it's the first, get electrolysis or laser removal, don't try to do it yourself.

and if it's the second, for pity's sake, LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!

i've never heard any such thing as makeup going on smoother if you remove cilia!

If its hair that you can't see when looking into a regular mirror from six inches away, leave it alone. If its dark hair that is embarassing, have it removed professionally. I only remove eyebrow hair (waxing, and when I get money I'm going to get electrolysis). I've had my lip waxed before (someone told me I needed it, but according to others was just being mean) and then I had tiny little zits all where it was waxed. ~~jax
