Do you match your foundation to your neck?

When I try to buy foundation, the sales people always tell me to "match the foundation to the skin color of your neck." But my neck is always paler and more yellow than my face.

In theory, my face and neck skin should be the same color but I guess because my face is exposed to the sun more often (even though I wear sunscreen) it's different.

Are you able to match your foundation to your neck? I definitely see demarcation if I don't match my foundation to my neck, but if I buy foundation that matches my neck I look like a ghost. Which is worse - line of demarcation or relative of Casper? What do you do?
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

line is worse for me, personally. I look at it this way... if I match it to my face, i have to take the foundation down to my shirt in order to avoid a line. if I match to my neck, i just have to cover my face. Easier and cheaper :P

if it's a DRASTIC difference in colors, maybe you could find something in between... and just fade it down your neck so you don't have a really defined line

Yes, I match to my neck. You can always add a little more life into your face if you feel you look ghostly with blush or bronzer (just don't go crazy with it, of course).
