I am such a lotion freak! If you have dry skin, I heartily recommend Burt's Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey and Orange Wax Lotion (gorgeous scent), Fragrance Free Shea Butter and Vitamin E Lotion (unscented, but it has a strange scent that disappears quickly), or Kiss My Face Filthy Rich Moisturizer (citrusy-woodsy-outdoorsy scent).
I also like Burt's Bees Radiance Body Lotion with Royal Jelly (another gorgeous scent); it's thinner and good if you don't need a heavy moisturizer. It also has mica for a bit of shimmer. I used to love Nature's Gate Body Lotion Organics with Lemongrass and Clary Sage, but I read the ingredients carefully, and discovered parabens in it (I don't want them on my skin).
All of these work with my sensitive skin, in case that's a consideration. You can buy these lotions for significantly less $$$ through places like LuckyVitamin.com (my favorite) or Vitacost.com.
Also, these lotions are only good for spring, summer, and fall weather since they're loaded with glycerin. Actually, I logged on here to ask for recommendations for petroleum and glycerin-free lotion (hey, winter's not that far away!), so if anyone also has any recommendations for that... :-)
For hair products, do you know your hair's porosity and texture
? Depending on that, you may want to try a few products from the Shea Moisture line (you can buy it at Target, Walgreen's, Duane Reade, Amazon, etc.). If your hair is fine or medium textured, Shea Moisture's Coconut Hibiscus line (with the salmon colored labels) would be good. If your hair is coarse, the Shea Moisture products with the gold-ish labels are good.
I didn't mean to write a novel, but I hope this is helpful.
