See THAT is actually quite pretty. I like that a lot, actually. I guess I don't really care for the ombre effect where your lipstick fades into no lipstick at all. It looks nice when it fades into another color.

So glad it worked for you! Hmmm...maybe a different liner would work.
And you can call me TNB or Phoenix. Either or...
Yes, and make sure your lips are moisturized/exfoliated.

I have different shaped eyes too. Its more noticeable if I'm tired.
I haven't figured out the exact technique to mask it, but wearing makeup in general, lining eyes and lots if mascara, camoflauges it.

Hi I just started using bare minerals makeup, because my skin is pretty sensitive. When I put it on though it seems to get cakey on my face. Does it do that because of how I apply it, or is it just the makeup? My skin is pretty oily. Would it help to have a moisturizer underneath? I ordered samples in meow cosmetics, hopefully they Get here soon so I can see if that's any better.

I'd definitely try a moisturizer underneath. Maybe an oil-control moisturizer. Let it absorb for 10 minutes then apply your mineral makeup lightly.

Hi TNB I was wondering if you could give me some advice? im still experimenting with eye makeup and any advice would be great! I've been using a pencil liner, thats suppose to be waterproof but still smudges more than I'd expect. I have absolutely no experience with liquid or gel liners, but I definitely don't want it to look really bold. I like a lighter, more natural look. In the pic I'm wearing no eyeshadow, brown black eyeliner pencil and some mascara, but it (eyeliner) looks more black to me. I'm not an expert at applying it though... I just do the best I can then use makeup remover and try to fix it. Someone recommended a light brown eyeliner, or dark brown but not black...? Could you give me any advice on how to accentuate my eye? There are so many mixed opinions on google, it hasn't really been all that helpful, just confusing, lol. Thanks Oh and here's the picture. Sorry about my dark circles... I am actually wearing concealer.

Warm browns, copper, gold are good to enhance brown eyes. Personally (although "experts" won't agree with this), I like a touch of blue on blue eyes. It just makes you look like you have huge blue eyes! IIWY, I'd line my top lashes with a medium brown eyeshadow and then use a blue eyeshadow (about the blue of your eyes) to line the bottom lashes. Here are some other tips:
A) Cat's Eye - Apply a thin line of e/s to your upper lashes only, using an angled brush (damp or dry). Flick the line up at the outer corners. You could use either color for the Cat's Eye.
B) Apply a sparkly gold-ish eyeshadow to the inner 2/3 of your upper lids. Then smudge a warm brown into the outer corner.
C) Whatever style you choose, you can always apply a white or fleshtoned eyeliner pencil to your bottom waterline too. That really brightens up the eyes.
HTH!

Thanks TNB for the advice to mix foundation with moisturizer to create my own tinted moisturizer. Saves me $$$!

I wanted to come back and say thank you for the eye shadow suggestions. I finally picked them up and I adore the colors.
Now if I can find the perfect concealer that does not wear off in 10 minutes.
** Shoot!! I wish I could get a pic to post. I used all your tips, on one eye, and it turned out beautifully. Maybe the pic option will be fixed for iPhone sometime soon.
Worn out iPhone. Need I say more?

have you tried edward bess concealer? i think it is only sold at bergdorf goodman, i buy it online. and, i guess maybe edward bess has a website. it is by far the best concealer i've ever used and i've tried high end cosmetics. it is $35 and it lasts me a full year. sometimes they offer free shipping.

Fantastic! Glad it is working well.
As for concealer, I rec Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer a lot. It is like paint for the face.

It was suggested to me that I post this question in the Ask Phoenix thread, so I hope I am in the right place. I am looking for a foundation with a luminous finish, that will not leave me looking glittery like a teenager, and that is under $30. I used to use a lovely foundation by l'Oreal called Translucide, but it was discontinued. Others have suggested a luminizer over foundation or under, but I have not been able to find a foundation that I really love.

The 1st to come to mind is Becca tinted moisturizer but its about $48.
So you might want to try Revlon Skinlights or Nivea Beauty Lift foundations instead. Have you tried them?
Armani makes its own Silk Luminous foundation but its 80 bucks!
Honestly though Im a little unclear...what *other* qualities besides being luminous would you like in a foundation? IOW would you be ok with a foundation that wasnt luminous if it had all the other traits you want?

Hi, New Black, thank you for the reply. Revlon Skinlights is too "lit up", I have it and use it as a highllighter, also, I think it may be discontinued, do you know? Was not able to find the Nivea product you mentioned when I googled it.
Im a gal on a budget and cannot do the high end foundations. I would like a foundation that can be "built", ie, you can vary the coverage. I have very fair skin with a pink tone, not beige or yellow, and prefer a liquid. My eyes and hair are dark. I currently use 2 Maybelline foundations, Dream Mousse, and Age Rewind; I also have a MK foundation that is supposed to be luminous, and the jury is out on that product as of yet. Someone recommended a new Benefit foundation...
Additional comments appreciated.
