Please, can some random IT dude go and get the servers back up and running at MUA? I have things to discuss and review. I got the Clump Crusher last night and need to talk about it.

(yes, there are more important things to do in the wake of Hurricane/Tropical Depression/etc Sandy, but I just had that random selfish thought.)

So far good, and truly the brush does make a difference. I use two coats, and it gives me volume like the original lash blast, but I think I prefer the lash blast fusion formula still. But this is a close second. My list is now:
1. lash blast fusion
2. clump crusher
3. original lash blast

Sooo...I know I'm really late to this game, but wayyyy down thread a couple of you mentioned eyeshadows breaking. I don't remember who told me this, but I remember being told that with the majority of eyeshadows, if they break all you need to do is scrape all the shadow out of the well, crush it up finely, then make a paste out of the powder mixed with sterile saline solution or eye drops and pack it tightly back into well, let it dry and it should be good as new. I've had my Mary Kay eyeshadows break and have always been able to save them by doing this.

And on to my random thought processes for the butt crack of dawn because I can't sleep: I'm thinking I should care a whole hell of a lot more about lipstick or lip color...but I tend to bite my lips and eat it all off within one hour of putting it on. And I have weirdly shaped lips that never hold a lipstick, lip liner or lip stain without jumping the borders, so lip balm is all I use to prevent chapping from biting my lips.

Also, I should get my permanent makeup retouched. My eyeliner has faded to a point where it looks gone in patches. I could also use a darker color on my lips (lipless wonder here with little to no natural pigment on my lips originally). At least my eyebrows are holding up for the most part, though they could use a touch up, too.

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

Dear Auntie:

We are officially not EVER going anywhere together until you come off the mistaken impression that your Maybelline FitMe color is 320 Soft Beige. I am also never ever going to address the topic with you again, no matter how many people suggest that I do so. You will also no longer get my makeup mishaps - Lord knows what the heck you do with them anyway (OK, yes, you do use the CoverGirl Queen Matte Pressed Powder, but that's all). I love you but I cannot get with the whole dead, powdered ghost look that you insist on having. I blame you for your daughter's lack of beauty knowledge - as if she could come to you for help. Maybe you got it mixed up (because you are shade 350, NOT 320) but when you saw the pasty mess on your skin you should have known it was a mistake. I could see your face a-glowing from the front stoop last time I came to visit. When you are ready, you know where to come for help - I will not be leading any interventions.

Love,
Your Proudly NC50/FitME355/MUFE 44Coffee-Skinned Niece

I needed to get that out y'all. That is all.

I find it funny that the only foundation I can use anymore is drug store, after many years of not being able to use it without risking explosion.

My hair has been great, and excessively frizz free for the longest but I am now forced to do a new gel trial and error. I don't want to start over with that.

I've made up my mind that I really don't like lipstick.

I made my own false eyelashes! It was a pita but kinda fun. They're drying now. I'll post pics later!

^ ooh. I can't wait to see them.

I have been slobbering over adds for Giorgio Armani's perfume Acqua di Gioia in Vogue for several months now. I stumbled across it in a new department store yesterday, tested it on my skin, and fell madly in love. It is so hard for me to find perfumes that do not change on my skin within 20-30 min, but this is perfection. The lotion... oh my! It is like silk. Given that 3 of my favorites are no longer sold, I could not be happier.

Here are my homemade false lashes! They look a bit like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree though.

How did you make them?

I actually finally found out why people put on liquid foundation with a large fluffy brush and top that off with powder on a larger fluffy brush. I really like the look of it. This is the first time I've worn powder or foundation in years.

Yay for time off and plenty of makeup brushes that I've bought over the years and never used. I tinted my eyelashes last weekend and they turned out great too. I tipped them tonight with electric blue liquid liner...and wow! So cool.

I cut off some bristles from a powder brush, laid down a thin line of e/l glue on a plastic surface and let it get tacky. Then I placed the hairs on top of the glue and pressed down with a small metal spatula. After it dried, I added more glue, placed a thin strip of fabric over the glue and let dry again. I carefully peeled up the "lashes," trimmed them and curled them with a small curling iron.

I made some from peacock feathers that I'll post another time.

Playing for keeps is putting some SERIOUS work in trying to get black women to see their movie. Their partnerships with Black beauty guru's is a little...well...I don't get it. The movie has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING they're creating/sharing! I JUST WANT TO WATCH THIS EYESHADOW TUTORIAL! WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SOCCER!
