they both arrive today, one already there. i can't wait to use. i'll post how they work.

i really like mac shadow and there are a lot of other good brands. i think i'll try the make up forever purple phoenix uses in her flower eye. i love purple! i don't think i'll worry about nyx shadows since they seem fragile. i don't really care to buy makeup online with the exception of meow which is my favorite foundation.
Me too @ the bolded(or should that be me either?). I like to know what it really looks like/feels like before I buy it. I would not have started buying the NYX except for trying a few on clearance at ULTA. They do wear well but I am feeling like it's not worth the trouble to baby the shadows. I am hoping that they will restock the concealers because it seems a cheap way to test the orange concealer out.
I can't wait to hear your results with the concealer.

ETA: NYX jar concealers should be back in stock the week of 2/13. I am calendaring this.

My foundation smells like paint.

My step-mom always says she's going to "paint the barn" when referring to putting on her makeup before we go out so this is taking it to another level.

What does this say about what I have to cover my face in?

'put on my face' always sounds funny to me when people say it. it reminds me of when people say 'make groceries'

I've never heard "make groceries".

I've gotten a few odd looks when I say "going to town" as in I'm going shopping. I grew up in the sticks and it really was going to town because we were so far away from everything. Fast forward to now and I live in town, but I still say I'm going to town. Habits!

well i think i'm going to like my goodies!! the nyx concealer stick is a perfect texture. goes on smooth and i hit the jackpot for color match considering i bought it online. the nyx dark translucent powder looks fine and will be good for protecting the undereye while i'm applying color (my original purpose for it). now the make up forever orange. um, LIKE. i swatched it on the back of my hand. good texture, no shine like the orange lipstick i was using has which is great. it's thin but opaque-ish if that makes sense. i think it will work perfectly to cancel out the color. based on how i feel about the two other nyx products their orange is probably good (girls on youtube love it) but i got the make up forever one so i'm going to use this and when i run out i'll reassess if i keep with this or switch to nyx. i hate liking a product then it's not available when i want it so nyx is less appealing from that perspective. anyway...the color to the left is the orange and the one on the right (hard to see because it's a good match) is the stick concealer.

The NYX site seems to have been re-stocked - I just grabbed a couple of shadows that just BROKE from being dropped on my carpet from a height of about 3 feet, inside my makeup bag, and continued to break worse all day yesterday. OK, I have gone off topic. Anyway, Herb is back in stock and so maybe you all can find a bunch of stuff we have been waiting to get.
Not remembering anything about a pore minimizing powder on the Sephora site, I went to Tarte's own site, and they have a lot more products in the line than I realized . . . I see more bucks flying out the window . . . powder, concealer, here I come, LOL!

Queen Helene's mint julep masque is great for minimizing pores. Lots of positive reviews on MUA - and they're true! It's temporary, but definitely reduces redness and shrinks pores. Drier skins will require a good moisturizer afterwards.

Have not used the bronze finishing powder from Tarte yet. A lady at ULTA has me rethinkin ghtis purchase (might go for clear one instead).

My Viva Glam Nicki Minaj came today! I am wearing Impassioned lipstick already... it wouldn't be too much of a stretch...should I just put it on?

So I just tried L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base primer. It doesn't taste very good.

^^ ^^

Trying the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation a shade darker in Med. Light today - think it's a better match than the Light. Also trying the Amazonian Clay blush in Natural Beauty. I like it, but I'll probably save it for nighttime most of the time and use Amused during the day. NB's a little more color than I need for everyday.

I'm so frustrated. It feels like nothing will ever work for my skin. Acne is a curse.

1. WHY has my cherryculture order not shipped yet? It has been a WEEK.

2. WHY has NYX not re-stocked its concealer jars? Isn't today 2/13?!?

3. What's with the hate of MAC makeup in certain circles? I was in a store and I asked about a Tarte product and when I said I was happy with my foundation (Tarte doesn't have a color dark enough for me to get on the ground anyway) and answered her further inquiry that I used MAC I got mad shade. She went on all about it was so bad for the skin and it clogged pores (she had just complemented my skin, but OK) and I just put the stuff I wanted down and left. Also, I mentioned on another board that I did not have the problems people always say they have about MAC with breakouts, etc, and three women got all on my case, talking about how their powders are SO bad (I clearly stated that I use MAC LIQUID foundation). Anyway, all these other posters have jumped on the hatred bandwagon and clearly have not read my posts because they are all hating on MAC's powder formulations, which I said I don't use! What's up with that?

I don't know how to break up quotes nicely like you, so:

1. I think I am just going to break down and price another orange concealer. I am tired of waiting. This is about to make my NYX phase come to an end. I cannot depend on them to keep stuff in stock and any time I order something online it takes entirely too long, no matter where I order from.

2. I love to go to the MAC training classes. I can only imagine how the professonal ones must be. I say do it and report to the rest of us how you liked it (and maybe any little tips you learn lol).

ETA: I was looking at Sephora for an orange concealer...I got sidetracked by the NARS lipstick I was alson interested in. I want , like 6 of them, in varying degrees of red. Still haven't gotten to the concealer.
