Does anyone know why certain eyeshadows turn sort of greenish on people that have a red skin undertone ? But the person has a light brown complexion ?

For instance.. a shadow that is clearly gray, taupe, or silver..looks like it has a green tinge to it once applied ?

She also has vision problems and wears glasses she cannot see without. So WHY does she use the blackest black liquid liner and mascara (that's all she does, and you can imagine what that looks like)? It makes her eyes look small and closed, and with the glasses it looks like one is looking into those small, shiny black marble eyes of angry cartoon characters. Imagine how difficult it is to pay attention to her during a presentation. I swear I always feel like she is lecturing us and I wonder if she can see me staring at her eyes when I speak to her individually.

I just discovered this thread. What a great idea!

I will never find out if my undertone is "cool" or "warm." Makeup sales people disagree. I had my "colors" done several times. I got winter, fall and spring. Confusing!

I can't find a bronzer that works for me. They look orange or muddy.

I bought an Yves St. Laurent lipstick. I will now starve (it cost $30) but it had the most gorgeous texture on my lips. Cushiony. I was seduced. Tried it on in Sephora and I melted. I'd like to wear it to sleep in - maybe I'll have a really sexy dream.

Plus it's not my place (I know; that means it's not my place to worry about it either but it was wearing me out that day).

On a positive note, I am really getting the hang of the orange-tinted concealer. I had to buy it from Laura Mercier because I just could not find it anywhere else (I couldn't get with the lipstick on the face).

I have to say... I didn't think this L'Oreal eyelash serum stuff would work, but I've been using it for about a week now, and I can definitely tell that it's made a difference. I haven't had naturally full lashes in a while!

I love coloful eyeshadow damnit. I keep considering getting rid of my ben nye lumeire palette, and stick to my "grown up" neutral palettes, but color is too fun....so I bought the lumeire colors that dont come in the 12 color palette.

Ben nye stuff rocks. In the last couple months ive been using the concealer wheel, some of the lipsticks, and the banana setting powder. The only thing I got so far that I didnt like is the lipgloss wheel, not because the colors arent good (they are beautiful) but because it smells and tastes awful.

Goodness..trying to switch to a liquid foundation has been an ordeal. I guess it's really true what they say.. if it's not broke don't try to fix it. Looks like mineral foundation really is the best thing for me and I just have to accept that with drier skin now I'll have to mix it with a good moisturizer. Wish I would have just done that in the first place though before I spent any extra money.
I saw a girl at Target yesterday and I honestly had to bite my tongue to keep from telling her "stop tanning, you look like a cheez-it!"

My skin has been an oily, giant pore-screaming (hormonal?) mess the last few days. (EWW!)

So I went to Ulta yesterday and found this "Be Fine Pore Refining Scrub" (with Citrus, Coconut, Jojoba and Tea Tree Oil) in the clearance section (should have been a clue). It's 4 oz - it was $13, but I got it half-price @ $6.50! I tried it out it this morning and LOVED it! It smells nice, it's not harsh, and so far my skin is smooth and happy.

So I looked for it online. This particular one has been discontinued. The company decided to reformulate it (more chemicals), cut it down to 3 oz, and sell it for $24...

I have oily skinn too. I wash my face with natural face/hand soap and at night I moisturize with jojoba oil. In the morning I moisturize with Vitamin E cream. It seems to be working a lot better at controlling the little dry crusty spots and my face overall doesn't look like an oil slick by the end of the day. In fact, my skin has been looking really normal lately.

I just want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
I just bought some Benzyl peroxide 10% gel. Great I am back to my teenage skin routine before the Roaccutane. Stupid frigging hormones. Urgh.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
Bought a tube of DiorShow Iconic a couple of weeks ago and it's great! Smooth formula that not too wet & not too dry, curls & lengthens my lashes (exactly what I'm looking for!), and the packaging is beautiful!

Only problem? It costs $28 a tube! 😡 I can't see myself spending that much every time I want a new tube!

Any alternatives? Dupes? I've also tried Clinique High Impact Curling, which is good but Iconic is much better.

RiMiDa, L'oreal Voluminous Original is very impressive, but it helps to wipe off the brush before applying because it goes on very thickly. It's in any drugstore.

I like to use it and then go over it with Maybelline Lash Discovery which has a tiny brush that separates and gets every teeny lash. By itself the L'oreal is too gloppy for me.

Please let us know if you find something you really like as well as the Dior.
