I actually think my makeup collection is complete. Sure, I don't have many "favorites", but i have everything I need. And this is good. It's a good place to be

I have a serious problem with the pretties...I went to the drugstore today for some emergency migraine relief and ended up with a new lipstick / gloss as well. I am supposed to be on a no-buy. Hmph. I am not exactly crying for the cure though lol.

Nicole by OPI's No Limits nail polish is black. I'm just saying. First I thought it was purple. Then it looked navy. After 2 coats I realized it was black...

They discontinued the Revlon Lip Butters.
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? ???????????
My fave product. So I cleaned out the inventory (only my fave color) in two supermarkets. May hit up a third location this wknd.

All my fav colors at MAC have been discontinued and now THIS! It's like I am destined to have dry, colorless, chapped gross lips forever.

Did they really discontinue the lip butters? The bright red is my favorite (I don't remember the name). I've gotten so many compliments when I wear that one. Now I have to hit up the drug stores!

Eta: Candy Apple is the color. And Pink Truffle is the other one I like!

I love gumdrop. Already know Po doesn't like that color on me. Or maybe it was Chocolatecurls and Amneris. LOL

That wasn't me! If it's the color I think you're talking about I said I liked it!

Discontinued lip butters?! No!!

There was a Revlon lipstick (got it from my mom, it was old) that got discontinued and I JUST found a lip butter colour that's similar enough to it that I can be happy.

BUT ALAS, now I cannot.

I'm sick of makeup that breaks the bank -.- It is what it is, but AGH. I should not have to pay $20 for eyeliner that will stay on.

Some of the purple lipsticks (which are super trendy right now) get on my last nerve. I want to snatch the persons lips off and throw them, because I care. I also can not stand some of the "nudes" aka death by Creamsicle.

They are so flat it's not even funny. I do love some of the purple shades with added depth (by ombre or different colors added in the center) or the ones that are deeper colors.

^ I like that a little better when another shade is added that blends them a touch more but it's still cool and not the dark liner all around with light lipstick.

I love violets, plums, etc... So many beautiful shades but lavender is not one of them. I keep seeing so many girls in tutorials that constantly wear obnoxious pinks and purples.

Not really one of the colors shown here. Those just showed the mirror on the side and light in the wand the best. How cute is that? I don't really need it but I like things that light up

I do love purples, and there are some of the lighter and brighter I like a little more.

(This only because it has 2 colors and 2 formulations. It's still got way too many pastel megawatt's for me. Lol)

Still not for me (other than the last. i have something similar but not quite as purple/purple). I am more of a berry toned person. I love the deep fall colors. Some sheer medium & deeper shades.

The lip color adds always crack me up. People pulling on their lips or they have berries in their mouth, because that's what we all do after we put lipstick on.

Hehe. Biba Makeup was one of the first that created bight, dark and unusual colors. They did not use additives that toned the color down. They launched in the 60's.

Say It, I Dare You ~ Makeup/Beauty Style-imageuploadedbycurltalk1399311026.288934.jpg

I know one of the current trends for S/S 2014 is the good old blue eyeshadow ran across the lid and not blended. Sharp lines, and graphic liner. It's a Biba cosmetics look and we know the blue eyeshadow trend lasted thru the early 80's. *I do like the different blue liners trend with a summery lipstick. Simple eyes, pop of color with the liner and lips. One more ETA: Idk how I feel about the straight sweep of blue again. I do not mind some shadows that are just applied across, nothing in the crease, all over color, so on. But I also know makeup brushes did not become widely used until quite some time after they were talked up in the 60's or 70's. Women just applied with the sponge applicator that came with your Cover Girl It's a little odd to see it again.

The unusual lip colors have been coming and going since the 60's and 70's.

^ I love the green.

I love some of the unusual cheek colors Biba did. Mauves and lavenders.

Say It, I Dare You ~ Makeup/Beauty Style-imageuploadedbycurltalk1399311175.997160.jpg

I like looking at a lot of these colors in an editorial sense but the bright Barbie pink and creamy orange people call nude, the harsh blue eyeshadow ( which was often paired with the pink) and the unusual pastel lipsticks have always been at the bottom of my everyday look list.

I still see the beached blonde hair, bright blue eyeshadow, and barbie pink lips from my childhood. It gives me flashbacks. Weirdest thing.

(I can probably blame most of that on my 1st grade teacher. The woman was evil incarnate)

I am often puzzled when I get on a makeup tutorial binge. I keep wondering why these young ladies are apologizing every 5 minutes. "Oh, God! A thunderstorm just rolled in and has killed my lighting. I am sorry! I am so sorry." Turn on another light and move on. "I know some of you hate my new background and I am so sorry. I had to move the ........... and ......." Screw em, and move on. "Before I show you my makeup collection as requested by several subscribers I want to make it clear that I am not bragging or showing off. I have been collecting makeup for a very long time. I did not buy this all at once .............." I'm a makeup hoarder and I hear you. Screw the kids with no job and no hoard (as of yet) and move on. ETA: That one was really strange because the lady is a makeup artist. You should know they are going to have a rather massive and impressive collection between personal and client products. It's their job.* It's a little sad to see so many people feeling like they have to apologize in every other breath. It's makeup tutorials. It's fun, and handy for tips, but it's not that serious.

I hate when the MUAs insist that I need to wear warm colors to "warm up my complexion". No! I have a cool completion, I can contour with cool colors to add shadows and define. I don't need an orange bronzer, the cool one will do just fine.Warm colors look dirty and muddy on my skin.

There is no such thing as a universally flattering shade.

For the love of all that is good in the world-BLEND!
