This. I smudge the pencil a bit then apply the shadow with a fine angled brush.

There are very few people who can do contouring well. On most it looks horribly unnatural and makes the person look overdone or dirty.
This is something that should be left to the professionals, imo.

Also, why are makeup brushes so expensive?? You can go to an art store and stock up on paintbrushes which do the same thing for a fraction of the price. I'll take Loew-Cornell over MAC brushes any day!

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for a NYX Cosmetics order to be fulfilled (I suppose I should have asked that BEFORE I placed said order)?

Where did you order it from?

I think ulta has free shipping over 25 plus tracking. They ship quickly.

I got my stuff today. The elf high definition power is magical! I was impressed. It really does make a difference in photos.

Thanks for your response on two fronts:
1. I ordered direct from NYX, because ULTA does not have the colors I was looking for and they have a stank attitude at the one by me. They are in the same state, and I was able to contact them and they let me know they would e-mail me when it shipped, so I can stop worrying.

2. I just got some of the e.l.f. HD powder - I will try it soon - good to hear a review. Magical, you say?

No problem!

On the website it said it makes your skin look "soft focused" and all this stuff on camera and like always - I wasn't buying their claims. I'm highly skeptical of beauty claims in general. I bought it anyway, because I needed a translucent powder to set my make up and this one was only $6 and had decent reviews.

First of all, I was really impressed by the texture. It was super soft! It feels really cool. Second of all, it really did make my skin look "soft focused" in photos! Not sure how long it stays on. Also, it might not be that translucent on darker skin tones. I'm having a makeup play date later, and I'll try to get some good photos.

Where are these people that use olive oil as a make up remover? I tried it and it was a MESS.
