Default Hyperpigmentation, Acne Scaring/ Acne Prone. #Help!

I suffer from acne scaring and I'm not sure what to do! I have oily combination skin (oily T-zone) and the scaring is MOSTLY all over my chin, below my nose around my mouth, and a few on my cheek area. They fade away relatively easy (with time and the use of ambi) but now its like they've doubled in new spots :'( I can't go to the Doctor's so I'm looking for Affordable products and advice on how i can conquer this battle with my acne prone, hyperpigmentation, skin. Thanks everyone
Xoxo, Shanel :/

I face the same challenges with hyperpigmentation. I decided to do a google search just to see what information is out there and I found a really helpful article:

Acne Scars - Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Acne Scars

The great thing is that they will fade. The not so great thing is that, according to the article, it may take between 3 and 24 months.

I've definitely heard of using glycolic acid, and the article gives a list of some other great over-the-counter ingredients to look for.

Vitamin C serum can help, as can any number of skin lightening potions. Nothing really speeds up the fading process very much though. The best thing is to prevent new breakouts. Have you tried a daily regimen of benzoyl peroxide? BP works well to prevent acne IF you apply all over the area before you breakout, not after. BP is cheap, but it will bleach your sheets and towels, so it's best if you use white sheets and wash off thoroughly before using a towel.

I've found that Neutrogena 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment makes the spots left behind from acne fade more quickly. It's supposedly the cheapest product that contains salicylic acid that has the right pH to let the SA actually work.

Post-zit hyperpigmentation is tiny amounts of iron left over from blood cells. It takes your body a little while to break it down. Chemical exfoliants like SA can speed this process up.

^^^
I've had similar results from their 2-n-1 rapid clear. I tried it on a huge zit, and after it healed, the spot left behind looks more like a light freckle.

i have quiet a bit of acne scaring as well, though i use argan oil on my face, i used to use it twice a day, but now i use it every morning, night i use evening primrose oil. the argan oil really helped to clear my skin up. something else that can really help is microdermentation, (hope i spelt that right!) i had it done, just the once and ooh my amaying results!! i should have had it done again but i ran out of time. my skin had never looked better after i had it done. ooh and its also really good for sun damage and hzperpigmentation i would really look into it if i were you

i used invicible for my scars and hyperpigmentation. It worked pretty well for me. My scars and all those spots and blemishes, they all faded away within a month. It didn't even cause breakouts since it does not contain common skin irritants like preservatives and fragrances. It just the smell that irritates me , else the results are remarkable

I have a similar problem. It's all under my chin and makes me look like u have a beard!!!! My issue is eczema scarring. Bleaching creams work, but cause the eczema to flair up before it fades the spots. Endless cycle. Ugh!!

Default Peel at home?

A peel can help to clear future breakouts and fade acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Check out the ones at MUAC. I just ordered their Radiance Peel (mandelic acid and fruit enzymes) after getting a rec from the gals over at MakeUpAlley.com.

I agree that peels can really improve the texture of skin and reduce hyper pigmentation. I use Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel once a week and I apply ARCONA lightening drops to the area morning and night and have had GREAT results.

What MUAC peels have you all used with success in lightening the hyper pigmentation? I'm on my 4th week of 40% lactic acid 2xs a week. This was recommended to me by the representative to help fade marks and minimize pores. The only thing I've noticed is softening and smoothness but nothing for the marks or pores.

I'm thinking if either increasing to the 50% or 65% or switching to the glycolic or fade peel.
