If I could just take all the stray hairs I have to pluck and transplant them to where they should be I'd be all set!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I've had really good results from using Latisse on my brows. I had some small bald patches from overplucking in my (mis)spent youth, and daily applications of Latisse (eyelash regrowth Rx stuff...works great for lashes) really helped the hair grow back on my brows too.

i personally love the look, effect and texture of the mac eyebrow pencil. it's a self sharpening pencil with a tiny tip. works great! powders can be good but can also look flat if not applied properly. even with my eyebrow pencil i try to keep it thin it's just more vibrant.

I would consider ordering the MAC pencil, I just want to avoid a dept. store if at all possible. I'm pretty sure I'd get the lightest color because I have sort of a light brown hair color.

I'm going to look for a few of the suggestions next time I'm at Target and if none of those pan out I'll give the MAC pencil a go. I use shelf sharpening eyeliner and I love it so that's appealing to me in a brow pencil as well.

What do you dislike about the Avon pencil?

The thinner the pencil the easier it is to make tiny strokes that look more hair-like and natural. IMO, a mechanical pencil is best for that. I like Mac's brow pencil a lot. But you said you prefer a drug store option...I like Maybelline Twin Brow and Eye pencils. They come in a 2-pack. They are not mechanical but sharpen well and have a good consistency. Get a good point on your pencil and make light, short strokes to fill in your brows. Then you can use a brow brush to blend the color, if you like.

Get a pencil in a shade lighter than your brow color, for a more natural look.

If it's a little dark, light brown is the same color family, just a little too light for natural-looking filling in for me. Of course, there are darker colors, too.

It's so fine that you can fill in with feathery little strokes for a more natural look. I don't even have to use any additional eye shadow or brow powder to fill in. I just comb thru when I'm finished, press with a powder puff to leave a slight residue of translucent powder to set it on my oily skin, then brush off any excess with a powder brush.

It works great, and I found the colors to be more neutral and work better for me than their two-packs of wooden pencils - one of those colors was too dark and the other too red in the two best shades for me. Those are fine if there was a better color, but I also prefer not to have to sharpen - I always wasted a lot of pencil because they often wouldn't sharpen well and big chunks of the color would come off at a time, even with trying different sharpeners.

First Revitalash (original formula) and then Billion Brow brow/lash serum helped me regrow my brows quite a bit. Now I'm using a really cheapo product that I read about on makeupalley.com from Silk Naturals - in all honesty, I haven't been using it very regularly, but it's still maintained the regrowth I already had and has maybe filled in a bit more.

curlyserf, thank you so much for the code!

Ok, so I double checked because it wasn't taking that code and it's MINERAL if anyone else is interested, gotta love free shipping!

I'm glad I don't know anything else I would want from there. I had to force myself to submit the order without browsing. Must. Save. Money.

wurlylox, that Maybelline pencil looks promising so I'll try it too, I've never seen it before. I like that it has a little comb on the end because I've got a cap with a comb on the end that I've been reusing with my pencils for years now and I can't even remember what product it originally came on. I hate, hate all the waste with sharpening a pencil so I'm with you on that.

The Silk Naturals sounds interesting. I hadn't even thought of using something to try and help them grow back until the ladies here suggested it. What would I do without y'all?

Look down - these usually are down low, especially at WalMart and Walgreen's where I most often buy them. There's also a very similar-looking green eye pencil, but it doesn't have the comb, so beware of picking one of those up by mistake.

I'm late to this thread but I fill in my brows daily...I use a product called add-a-brow. You have to order it but it's worth it! It has this gel(?) type stuff in it to prime your brows along with the skin that you'd like to make look like brows (does that make sense?), three different color powders, diffusing powder, and 3 brushes. It comes with a "free" gift everytime you order and also a tutorial booklet. I love it!

I always have to go back and shape mine with concealer because I like a very precisely defined brow.
