Can anyone rec a long lasting lip stain?
I am looking for a natural colour a bit darker than my real lip shade
that will last a long time as I have a job that wont allow for touchups.
Something that wont be drying as well I have found nice colors but they were very drying. Thanks in advance :^)

Tarte makes some excellent ones, but they are pricey!

I opened this thread so I could recommend this
Tarte makes a fantastic matte lipstain that's in the form of an oversized lipstick. Like Rou said, it's pricey. But IMO it's worth it. It's non-drying, has a light texture that feels great, and lasts until you until you do something to wipe it off (like eating). The finish look very natural, and so do the shades Envy, Nude, and Hope. The stain really makes it look like your lips are just naturally flushed or pigmented.
ETA: The Sephora reviews are pretty funny. Everyone completely contradicts each other!

Have you tried the Just Bitten (can be found at Target,Wallgreens,Rite Aid) ones? I like them and they last a long while for me. I usually use this one when I'm going for a "natural" look almost to even out my lips. I also like Stila (can be found online and Sephora) Also try using a liner under the stain for a longer hold.

I should add... The Tarte matte lipstain can make lips dry in cold or dry weather. You may want to switch to something more emollient depending on the whether.

Oh.. thank you SO MUCH for asking this question long_n_curly. Goodness knows I could use some lip stains. My lip colors always wear off so fast.
Wow.. 21 bucks for one lipstain though. Can't justify it for myself.
I'll be trying the Revlon Just Bitten. Didn't know NYC made any lip stains though. Cool. Thanks everyone..very helpful for me. And the prices are very justifiable to me for those two brands...LOL! I looked them up.
ETA..wait I just went to the Tarte website and it says they have something called Rise & Shine lip stain & lip enhancing gloss that costs $10.00. So why on earth is Beauty.com selling them for 21 bucks ?
Totally confused...

the Revlon Just Bitten isn't sold in Canada any more, but i did buy it when it first came out a few years ago. i found it had NO staying power whatsoever - which is the reason to choose a stain over a lipstick after all.

Aww.. I recently tried the NYC lip stains..they were awful for me.. the taste was horrible. So if one wear it..don't lick your lips by accident!

Thanks everyone,
Marah did you try that rise and shine one for 10$?
21$ is a bit out of my budget right now!
Does Sallys have anything similar?

Covergirl makes some lip stains...or at the very least, long lasting lipsticks that come in a "marker" type pen.
